This December Ben PS, Ben G, Fred and Charles will be running the Spectacle down in Nelson, aiming to complete the 100km event. Through our efforts we will also be aiming to fundraise $7,000 for Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand. Why CFNZ? Ben PS lives with the condition and wants to continue giving back to a charity that was created by parents of those with children with CF, for parents of those with children with CF. A charity that has supported all families across New Zealand impacted by those with CF, covering everyday finances, financial support for parents when they have kids admitted to hospital, sports benefits to help encourage CF patients to keep physically active, that is just a few examples of the incredible support they offer to those impacted by CF.

This will be a very new challenge for the 4 of us, the longest we have all currently ran is a marathon, and now it is time to do that an extra 1 and a half times on terrain that is also very foreign.

Melbourne 2026

Great weekend away with good company, glad I said yes when the opportunity had presented itself!

@melbmara cheers for the Kipchoge and Whelan spectacle, but I think you know what mistakes you need to improve on for next year, but you got it on the money with the new course I’ll give you that 👏
2 hour first half, 1 hour 49 second half, loves a negative split.
3 hours 49 all up.

The moment everything stopped.
And it all became very surreal.
A tear or two was shed right after this.

What really put a smile on my face was seeing @jimmywhelann going toe-to-toe with @kipchogeeliud and aiming to put himself in a position for one hell of an historical debut marathon. You don’t know unless you try.

An action packed calendar to close out 2026…

• 11.10.2026 @melbmara
Repeating another course that I ran last year. This time I’m excited to share the course with one of the greatest to ever do it @kipchogeeliud and use this marathon as getting some mileage in the legs in the warm up to December.

• 01.11.2026 @aucklandmarathon
Auckland marathon for the 5th time and the 4th year in a row. It was never going to be left out. Nothing beats running your home course and is and always will be the best finish line for me.

• 04.12.2026 @runthespectacle 100km
The big dance. An opportunity to push the limits of living with cystic fibrosis, tap into untapped parts of my mind, and raise money for @cysticfibrosisnz. Looking forward to this day with @ben.goodhand @charleswmswain @fred.tyler and the support crew coming down. Bring it on!
