Meet Winchester!

This sweet older gentleman is all about companionship. He loves pets, cuddles, and simply being near his people. He may not be much of a playtime enthusiast, but he’s an expert biscuit maker and will happily knead away beside you.

Winchester also enjoys his daily backyard strolls on his leash and rolling in the grass! He’s a patient, loving cat who would be happiest with people who enjoy having a furry companion close by.

Winchester is available for trial adoption! Get to know him by fostering him for up to a week, and if you’re a happy match, you can make his adoption official.

Winchester is available to meet by appointment.

The first rescue flight arrives Monday, and more cats and kittens will follow.

Berkeley Humane is helping provide a lifeline off Kauaʻi for cats and kittens after hurricane-force winds caused widespread damage and power outages, while opening desperately needed shelter space at the island’s only open-admission shelter.

Getting them here is only the beginning.

As they arrive, they’ll need veterinary exams, vaccines, medications, food, supplies, foster homes, and additional medical care for those who need it.

You can be part of the relief effort right now.

Support the rescue effort at berkeleyhumane.org

Sign up to foster at berkeleyhumane.org/foster/

Every cat who leaves Kauaʻi opens space for the next animal who needs somewhere safe to go.
