Love is everywhere if you know where to look for it. Our hearts are still warm and we hope yours are too. We hope everyone had a sweet Valentine’s Day and shared some love, and maybe even some local produce. ❤️🍎 You’re all the apples of our eyes.

Future dairy cows of America
•
This is a wee Jersey cow that will one day in the not too distant future be producing some of the best milk on the east coast.
•
The fine folks over at @highlawnfarm have been running this operation for over 100 years. While they make incredible cheeses, milks, ice creams, and butters, their number one priority is the health and welfare of their animals. It is an honor and pleasure doing business with them and sharing their products with our customers in CT & NYC.
•
Be sure to pay a visit to the farm! They welcome folks on the property to not only taste the products but also have a look around and meet the herd!
•
We can’t wait for our next visit back to see what new fun items they’ve got in store. We’re still drooling over that black garlic truffle butter we had on our last visit 🤤

Today’s yum comes from a recent field trip to visit @stonebarns
•
Reporting live from the experimental greenhouses where new strains of spinach are being bred as we speak.
•
Not all carrots are carrots and not all spinach is spinach. If you’re eating today, thank a farmer, or two, or three. Someone not only grew the crops you’re directly eating, but someone had to breed those seeds.
•
We’ve so much respect for the fine folks behind our food. To all farmers everywhere — thank you.

Small business, human scale, strong values.
•
Reason no. 629 we love working with small, local companies is because they truly care about what they do and the impact they have in their communities.
•
@deansbeanscoffee aka the specialty coffee company as a vehicle for social change has a line of sweeteners equally engaged in strengthening society through SWEET JUSTICE (R)
•
This certified B corporation is dedicated to not only organic & fair trade coffee, but all profits from SWEET JUSTICE products go straight to good works, advocacy, and activism right here in the US.
•
When you stock your pantry to sweeten your coffee or bake your cakes, it’s helpful to know you can be doing doubly good.
•
Thank you to the fine folks at Dean’s Beans & Sweet Justice for putting doing good at the center of what you do.

Why throw snowballs when you can toss these delicious local greens into a salad?
•
Did you know 98% of lettuce in America is grown in Arizona & California and trucked all over the US?
•
We are honored to bring one of the few & one of the best east coast lettuce growers to your door. @littleleaffarms is based in Devens, MA and sustainably farms 10-acres of greens all year long to supply this important coast with the freshest, tastiest leaves this side of the Mississippi!

When it snows, you have two options — shovel or make snow angels. Suffice to say we’re still snowed in. ❄️😎✌️

The Berkshires Agricultural region has one of the longest and richest growing histories in the US. Farmers here have been feeding thousands upon thousands of people for hundreds of years. New York State alone has been growing apples commercially for 300+ years!
•
One of our partner farms has been a part of that story for over 100 years. In 1913, Jesse Cooper of Columbia County, NY met Antonio Barolotta, an Italian immigrant, and started what eventually became known as Klein’s Kill Fruit Farms. Three generations later and the family business is still intact and supplying the region with farm fresh fruits – from apples to pears, plums to nectarines. We are honored to call them a partner farm!
•
A special bonus, this week’s seasonal harvest baskets contain Fuji apples from, yep, you guessed it — #kleinskillfruitfarm ! Taste the freshness. Taste the history.
