We need your help! Our little cutie, Stubs, has been missing for a week 🥺😩 If you live near the studio or know anyone who does, please help us spread the word. We look forward to getting him back home safely to the studio. 🙏🏻 Thanks for helping us spread the word far and wide. 💕

Stubs is easy to recognize: he’s got a short tail, an eye that looks like it’s winking at you, and he’s just as friendly as can be. 💕🥺💕 by @berlinglassworks

Meet Julia Oram at the next Glassy Wednesdays! ✨

Julia Oram is a Canadian artist based in Berlin and Athens who has since discovering glass become part of our glassy family! 💛

Working across marble, stone, glass, ceramics, and mixed media, Julia explores transformation, fragility, and the relationship between materials and the natural world. Her sculptures often bring together unexpected materials, embracing the tension and uncertainty of the creative process. Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek sculpture and contemporary abstraction, her work beautifully balances permanence and impermanence.

Come join us for an inspiring evening! 🔥

📍 Place: BG Glassworks Studio
📅 Date: October 28th
🕡 Time: 6:30 PM

Some images from this year’s Pilchuck x Berlin Glas. E.V. international exchange, sponsored by Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung!

As part of this new and exciting cultural exchange, during Session 1 this year, Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung sponsored Berlin-based artist Alan Horsley to visit Pilchuck and teach his kiln-forming and kiln-casting workshop, “Translating Form.”

This month, local artist Dan Friday was also sponsored by Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung to travel to Germany for a residency and to lead “Cane Making & Roll-Ups: Building Personal Language in Hot Glass” at Berlin Glass.

We are so grateful to Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung and Berlin Glass for making this exchange possible! This program is just one example of how Pilchuck continues to be an international campus and a place for cultural and creative exchange.

🔥 Meet Johanna v. Wichelhaus founder of @moonarij_objects

Glassy Wednesdays are back for another season, and we are thrilled to welcome Johanna v. Wichelhaus, founder of MOONARIJ — and the designer behind some very special vases that are often made right here at BG Glassworks!

Johanna’s fascination with vessels began during her childhood in Egypt, where she remembers the clay vases filled with cool water on the streets of Cairo. It sparked a lifelong appreciation for one of humanity’s oldest forms: the vessel as something both functional and deeply expressive.

Founded in Berlin in 2022, MOONARIJ creates distinctive collections handcrafted in collaboration with small regional studios and the artisans keeping local glassmaking traditions alive. ❤️

Come meet Johanna, hear the story behind MOONARIJ, and join us for an evening of glass, design, and conversation.
