Traditional glassblowing furnace building fun!

Our second activity to celebrate the International Year of Glass @das_jahr_des_glases was rebuilding our wood-fired furnace @monopolberlin! 😀 It took a whole day of group effort, Chappa and the cats 🐈 cheering us on, and yes, we attempted to make the back-side a pizza oven! 🍕(That part wasn’t very successful 😅 so we will build one separately to the side)

Stay tuned for activities at the outdoor furnace: Summer 2022 is gonna be fun!

repost from @alhambra_berlin In her hometown Berlin, the glass designer Milena Kling creates contemporary concepts for thoughtfully handcrafted glass objects and interior products. With a passion for traditional glass techniques and raw materials, she develops products and installations for local and international clients. Her work is based on a great fascination for contemporary craft, storytelling, and sustainably minded manufacturing processes.
"In my studio I envision tactile objects of natural aesthetic, exciting details and sensuous simplicity, to create a future for craft."

repost from @alhambra_berlin Feverishly experimental, Berlin-based Milena Kling grounds her warmly paletted glasswork in the alchemy of natural phenomena. Metamorphosed from copper filigree molds and pleated copper sheets interacting with mouth-blown glass, her breathtakingly unique vases and assorted objects transmute metal into treasure that blazes with raw textures and artisanal panache. @studiomilenakling
