Ahhh, what a week it was! 🫣

Now that we’ve finally caught our breath, we can look back and talk about the incredible opening we had on Thursday.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Sandwich NeuroHope!

The energy was amazing, and the dialogue between the two shows came alive in the best possible way - from Bernat Daviu’s sharp, satirical interventions in „Pim Pam Pum!”, to the quiet, reflective, and poetic tension in Eduard Constantin’s work in “In the End We are so Fragile”. Here are a few glimpses capturing the warmth and buzz of that evening.

If you couldn’t make it to the opening or want to spend more time with the works in a quieter setting, we are now on regular visiting hours:

Tomorrow is the opening of my exhibition Pim Pam Pum! at @sandwich.gallery in Bucharest🚀🚀

"Romantic landscapes, found in rubbish bins, at markets, or in fading auction houses, become the stage for spectacular downfalls. The calm sky breaks open, and the ambition to colonise and take possession of space finds its most exuberant image: the explosion. Pim Pam Pum!, Bernat Daviu’s solo exhibition at Sandwich gallery, brings together paintings and painted toys through which the artist comments, with irony and immediacy, on the hunger for power and profit behind the space race and the tech oligarchs who drive it."

VERNISSAGE - DOUBLE OPENING

Join us for the opening of „Pim Pam Pum!”, an exhibition by Bernat Daviu, hosted by Sandwich Neurohope.

With sharp irony, speed, and satirical bite reminiscent of newspaper cartoons, Bernat Daviu intervenes directly onto “exhausted” Romantic paintings rescued from flea markets and auction house margins. The tranquil skies crack wide open as unchecked ambition meets spectacular downfall: shuttles erupt mid-flight, debris showers remote pastoral villages, and powerful figures unravel in ridiculous scenarios.

Alongside the canvases, the Prototypes series transforms found toys into re-imagined objects of play, conflict, and transgression.

Painting isn’t dead - t’s mutating, detonating, and offering a mirror to our current moment.

No us perdeu en @gabrielwentura aquest divendres a les 18.30h al Jardí del @el_bolit_girona de Sant Nicolau per la presentació d'Una Ciclista amb Pistola, que reuneix un recull de notícies de diferents mitjans i èpoques que tracen un periple de fets insòlits i banals ocurreguts a les comarques gironines al llarg dels últims dos segles!

Yesterday it was the final day of an incredible @basel.social.club in Basel with @bernatdq @perellobera @josepmaynou 💥💥💥!

"Waiting Room is a space of limbo, of transition, where time is suspended and ceases to be productive. Bernat Daviu's installation invites people to sit and wait for a turn whose aim is unknown and seems to never arrive, making their wait the main part of the experience."
