Boxed up and almost out the door.

The Monitor Pro in a deep dark finish, and on top sits a horn in a crisp white that doesn't try to match anything. Dark HiFi speaker with heavy wood grain taken in Brooklyn, New York by @bernies.audio

My partner said ‘no more ugly speakers’ so I built this. An art panel slotted into a Vitsoe 606 shelf that also happens to play music. 🙌 taken in Brooklyn, New York by @bernies.audio

@muted.entity is a primitive coffee bar in Astoria, Queens, right off the N/W Broadway stop at 29-17 34th Ave.

@things.josephoxley is using manual equipment like the @strietmanespresso alongside beans from @flowerchild_coffeeroasting and @thoughtfulcoffeenyc. I tried a light roast from Thoughtful that had an almost tea-like quality - a nice contrast to the dark, burnt flavors elsewhere 🙌 the handmade ceramics by @magzipan adds the feeling of drinking a more delicate type of coffee. And if you’re in the mood for tea, they got you covered with @tezumitea 🔥

Congrats on the opening! Will be back soon! taken in Astoria, Queens by @bernies.audio

Recap of R&D session in Germany this August. The work ended up as calm and complex as the landscape it happened in…. Looking forward listening to these new ideas soon! taken in Nürnberg by @bernies.audio

I've been figuring out where to put this Quadrat Sound Painting. It slots straight into a Vitsoe shelf, no different from anything else on it, or it comes off the shelf entirely and mounts on the wall on its own. Still not sure if I think of it as a speaker or a piece of art at that point, and I don't think it needs to pick. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @bernies.audio

I get asked pretty often what shelf to use for a HiFi setup, and I see a lot of people defaulting to USM. It's modular in the way that actually matters, you can keep adding sections as the collection grows.

But there's a wider field of shelving worth knowing about, still in production and vintage both, some mid-century and some newer, that handles a hifi stack just as well: turntable, speakers, amp, and still room for a proper wall of records and CDs.

I keep coming across new ones I like, so send me any shelves you'd recommend. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @bernies.audio

Sound Painting slots into your existing modular shelf. Here it is mounted in a Vitsoe 606.

It's a 2.5-way, three drivers, full range packed in 6.5 inches of depth.

Most modern speakers have exposed drivers to show the stack. But high quality, acoustically transparent fabrics convert a necessary frame into being part of the object creating an understated, unassuming aesthetic inspired by Dieter Rams' work for Braun. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @bernies.audio
