Three days of live music, international sounds and incredible artists are coming to Berry for A Day Well Spent – Around the World, on Thursday 29, Friday 30 October and Sunday 1 November!

The music kicks off on the Thursday evening with two very different live music and dining experiences. From the expressive sounds of flamenco guitar to the infectious rhythms of Latin electronica, it's an opportunity to discover something new while enjoying great food and hospitality at two of Berry's intimate venues as the sun goes down.

🎵 Andre Laus at @pickled_ink_kitchen 6 – 8pm
Accomplished guitarist and composer @andrelausmusic brings classical guitar, flamenco and ambient textures together in a captivating instrumental performance. Pickled Ink is creating a special Japanese-inspired small plates menu designed to share, mix and match as you enjoy the music in their courtyard. With the venue now fully licensed, you can enjoy a drink alongside the food and live performance. Bookings are a must, phone 02 4464 3159.

🎵 GabzaK at @lebar.co 6:30 – 8:30pm
For something with a different beat, Chilean-born @gabzak.music brings his vibrant Electronica Orgánica sound to Le Bar, weaving together cumbia, dub, ska, jazz and Andean rhythms. Expect infectious grooves, unexpected musical influences and plenty of energy. Pair the performance with Le Bar's curated wines, bar menu and freshly made pizza from the visiting pizza truck. SAVE THE DATE: OpenField Arts Festival 2027!

Berry's contemporary arts festival is set to return for its third edition from Friday 25 – Sunday 27 June 2027, once again transforming our village into a vibrant canvas for bold ideas, creative expression and unexpected artistic encounters.

Held every two years, @openfieldartsfestival brings contemporary art into Berry's heritage buildings, community spaces and unexpected corners, with exhibitions, installations, performances, conversations and plenty more. Best of all, most of the program is free to enjoy!

The newly announced curatorial theme for 2027 is 'Heads in the Clouds', an invitation to dream, question and imagine new possibilities. Exploring the space between reality and imagination, the theme encourages artists to embrace wonder and creativity while also reflecting on the world we live in and the futures we hope to create. From playful, dreamlike interpretations to works that challenge perspectives and spark important conversations, it's a theme that leaves plenty of room for artistic exploration.

There's much more to be revealed in the coming months, but for now, pop the dates in your diary. We can't wait to see what OpenField has in store for Berry in 2027!

The Berry Gardens Festival is underway! Ticket in hand, we're taking you along for a sneak peek inside just three of this year's beautiful gardens.

It's been a busy first day, with visitors making their way through the gardens, stopping to admire the incredible spring colour and soaking up plenty of garden inspiration. Even a few passing showers couldn't dampen anyone's spirits!

There's still time to get out and explore for yourself, with the festival running through to Sunday 18th October. Take your time wandering through the gardens, discover what makes each one special and have a chat with the owners, who are only too happy to share their stories and gardening knowledge.

Beyond the gardens, you can enjoy workshops and talks, live music, plant sales and even a scavenger hunt for the kids at Garden 5. And while you're in Berry, stop for lunch or coffee, browse the shops and enjoy everything else our village has to offer.

Gardens are open daily from 10am – 4pm, with tickets available online or at each garden.

The countdown is on for the Berry Gardens Festival, opening this Thursday 15 October and running through to Sunday 18 October from 10am – 4pm.

This year’s Festival opens the gates to seven beautiful private gardens, from established town gardens and rambling country properties to an 82-acre equestrian estate. Six gardens are open across the four days, with a seventh, @thehomesteadberry, joining the program on Sunday only.

If you’re planning to make a day of it, now’s the time to start mapping out your route. Along the way there are workshops and talks, plant and garden wares for sale, live music and plenty of inspiration to take home with you. Workshops are included in the ticket price, with sessions covering everything from plant propagation and backyard mushrooms to garden structures, flower arranging, birdlife and dahlias.

With less than a month to go until the @berrywritersfestival, tickets are selling fast – but there are still some incredible opportunities to be part of this year’s festival.

Limited tickets remain for select sessions featuring widely recognised names including Jennifer Robinson, Bob Carr, Lisa Wilkinson, Peter FitzSimons and Mike Carlton – along with many more across the program.

From Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November, the festival brings together more than 70 authors, emerging voices, journalists, thinkers and storytellers for conversations spanning books, ideas, politics, culture, creativity and more.

For aspiring authors, the Friday also features a dedicated program of workshops, offering the chance to learn directly from experienced authors and industry professionals in smaller, practical sessions. Places are limited, so it’s well worth booking ahead.

There is still plenty to discover across the program, but with tickets moving quickly, now is the time to secure the sessions you don’t want to miss.

A Day Well Spent returns for one final 2026 edition, with Around the World bringing a huge three-day line-up of live music to Berry.

From Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November, Berry will be filled with artists bringing sounds and influences from Chile, West Africa, the Middle East, Spain, India and beyond.

The Thursday evening launch offers two distinctive music and dining experiences. At @pickled_ink_kitchen, Andre Laus pairs classical guitar, flamenco and ambient textures with an intimate dinner setting, while at @lebar.co, Chilean-born GabzaK turns up the energy with Electronica Orgánica, cumbia, dub, ska, jazz and Andean rhythms.

On Friday 30 October, @holypav presents Blissed Out at Berry School of Arts. Immy Owusu leads with his ‘Afrodelik’ fusion of psychedelia, Zamrock and West African Highlife, alongside Paul A. George, whose sound draws on sitar, flamenco and deep bass-driven grooves. They’re joined by Moussa Diakite with Malin Sylla, The Condiments Trio, Elemental Groove and DJs, plus African drumming workshops, South Coast Paella and a Holy Pavlova pop-up bar. It’s all ages until 8pm, then 18+ into the night.

Then on Sunday 1st November, the live music trail moves through Berry. Javier Rocha brings reggae, Latin and R&B to @theberrygeneralstore, Rahil Duo explores Middle Eastern maqam through oud and flute at @the.rutledge.bar, and Hannah Donnelly brings soulful R&B and jazz-inflected pop to @theberryhotelnsw. The day finishes at @greatsouthernhotelberry with Putrika & Kyati Suharto-Martin, followed by the nine-piece South Coast Salsa Coalition with an energetic mix of old-school and contemporary salsa.

It’s one final big weekend of music, food and atmosphere to round out this year’s series.

UPDATE: MARKETS HAVE NOW BEEN CANCELLED as of Saturday 10am due to the condition of the grounds and expected rainfall throughout Saturday.

This Sunday 4 October, Berry Showground will fill with more than 200 stalls for the return of Berry Markets – the largest monthly outdoor market on the South Coast.

From local produce and handmade goods to plants, homewares, clothing, food and more, there’s plenty to browse from 8am – 2pm.

With sunshine forecast, it’s shaping up to be a beautiful market day.

Berry will turn pink again this October for Pink Up Berry, with homes and businesses across the village decorating in pink and getting behind the month-long campaign in support of the @mcgrathfoundation.

Since Pink Up Berry began in 2019, the local team has raised more than $400,000 for the McGrath Foundation, helping fund Cancer Care Nurses who provide free care and support to people experiencing cancer and their families. This year, they’re aiming for an extraordinary milestone – $500,000 raised in total.

There’s a full calendar of FUNdraising events kicking off this week, organised by both the Pink Up Berry team and a number of local businesses.

Bundanon Artists & Makers Market will return on Saturday 3 October, filling its spectacular riverside setting with the work of more than 50 First Nations artists, contemporary makers and small-batch creators. Discover beautifully crafted ceramics, jewellery, textiles, homewares, illustration and sustainable design, with the chance to buy directly from the makers.

There’s plenty happening alongside the market too, with live music, food and drinks from Ramox Cafe and visiting food vendors, plus even more to explore across the Bundanon site.

Visitors can also catch the final days of the current exhibition 'Man On Fire: Visions of Nebuchadnezzar' in the Art Museum, drop into Mapping Bundanon – a free creative workshop with illustrator James Gulliver Hancock from 10am – 3pm, or book tickets for Echo Mapping (2pm) – a thrilling, joyful sound and movement performance by electronic musician and composer Jack Prest and street dancer and choreographer Azzam Mohamed.

There’s a new world of flavour in Berry! @gewurzhaus opens its newest store today, bringing its extensive offering of spices, herbs, teas and small-batch blends to Queen Street.

To mark the opening, there’s something special planned for this Saturday 26 September. The first 50 customers to make a purchase will receive a goodie bag, and Gewürzhaus is teaming up with local favourite Milkwood Bakery to serve fresh focaccia with its Bruschetta Blend, alongside Moroccan Mint Tea all day.

Founded in Melbourne in 2010, Gewürzhaus is dedicated to inspiring and nurturing cooking at home, with more than 250 single-origin spices, herbs, salts, peppers, teas and sugars, alongside over 100 exclusive small-batch blends.
