Music as a tool to amplify and reverberate!

In the countdown to the first round of voting for the Grammys nominations, attention is being drawn to the high-impact applicant @institutoalok amplifying indigenous voices from the Amazon, Brasil.

Urgent international mobilization, attention and support is being requested to nominate the “The Future Is Ancestral” album for the Grammy 2025 World Music Nomination, as a strategic tactic to raise awareness to a critical mass by putting them on the world stage.

Today, we are on the brink of an inhospitable earth with the Amazon at critical 26% deforestation. According to renowned climate scientist Alzenir Ferreira de Souza, “The destruction of the Amazon has the potential to be a ‘Doomsday Bomb,’ causing planet-wide environmental destruction.” And as the current fires rage on and the policies that led to them continue to exist, another 20% — 300,000 square miles — could soon be gone as well.

By having this album spotlighted by the Grammy’s, supporters will amplify voices of the forest and of mother nature, and help to secure a climate-safe planet for future generations, biodiversity and water. This is more than just a Grammy nomination. This is an opportunity to reach the masses and provide an historical moment that merges music and environmental consciousness.

The album was produced by @alok with @fernandogaribay , the GRAMMY-award winning and nominated songwriter as the Executive Producer. Co-producers for the project include Daniel Padilla, Ramiro Padilla. Gustavo Leal [Koen], and João Cruz. The album was mixed by Rob Rettberg.

Solutions Showcase & Block Party for the Amazon 🦜✨

Overview:

As part of New York Climate Week 2026, we are bringing NYCW Climate Live to the streets of New York across two full-day solutions showcases and block parties built to center the Amazon as a global frontline community in the climate crisis. Hosted first at Rock and Soul DJ Equipment and Records, in partnership with On Stage Dance Store next door, and then at Audio-Technica, the events turn retail storefronts into open, street-facing climate activations combining live broadcasting, music, dance, and grassroots climate action.

This is a celebration as much as it is a call to action: two days of creativity, culture, and community organizing designed to make climate solutions feel accessible, joyful, and urgent all at once.

What’s Happening:
Live Broadcasting & Podcasting — On-site live broadcast and podcast programming throughout the day, spotlighting Amazon frontline voices, climate leaders, and cultural changemakers.

Live Music & DJ Sets — A continuous lineup of DJs and live performers turning the block into a stage.
Dance Performances — Vibrant, high-energy dance programming in partnership with On Stage Dance Store.

Climate Hub & Art Installation — An interactive climate hub and art installation open to visitors throughout the week, offering an ongoing touchpoint beyond the single event day.

Street Block Party — Programming spills out of the storefronts and onto the street, creating an open-air, all-ages community activation in the heart of NYC.

Why It Matters:

The Amazon is one of the most critical — and most threatened — ecosystems in the global climate fight, and the communities who call it home are on the frontlines of that crisis. NYCW Climate Live is designed to shift the narrative from crisis fatigue to solutions and celebration, using music, dance, and media as tools to build genuine public engagement around Amazon protection and climate action. by @betheproject
