For as long as I can remember I have wanted to work in the fashion industry. And while things are slightly different now, when I was starting out in magazines, 15 years ago, the standard fashion assistant, writer or editor was a tall, slim, pretty girl. Being petite made me feel like an oddity, writing about clothes that weren’t designed to look good on me. @louise.thompson had so many similar experiences to me, something which inspired her to design a petite collection for Nobody’s Child. It was so much fun to chat to Louise and share our short gal woes. (Plus @carolynasome and @middleagedminx!) thank you @nicola_jeal @_harrywalker1 for the commission. I interviewed the inimitable Grace Dent for the cover of this weekend’s Telegraph magazine. I’ve been a fan of Grace for years, gobbling up her reviews and her memoir, Hungry. She was as witty, intelligent and giving as I’d imagined, a true dream to interview. And my first cover interview too!!! Today’s Sunday Times Style personal essay was something I’d dreamed of writing for a long time @theststyle 💖🗞️

It might be difficult for people to understand the motivation behind baring my soul in a national newspaper supplement, but the best way I can explain it is that during my darkest moments, hearing the stories of others whose lives hadn’t turned out the way that they wanted gave me hope — and strength.

I never wanted to be a single mother. I still don’t. But in a strange way, from one of the worst things that has ever happened to me, has come one of the best. I’ve never been prouder of anything. I hope Luna will be proud of us too.

In Grazia this week: I wrote about how the messy, juicy celebrity divorce spectacle is back… not just IRL but on the small screen too, with the biggest TV show of the autumn set to be WAR, starring Sienna Miller and Dominic West (And 2x Celeb Traitors alumni, Celia Imrie and Nick Mohammed!) I love this show - I worked on the press pack for it, interviewing the entire cast and crew (Miles Jupp was my highlight, and Sienna, obviously), and it was such a fun gig (please consider me for all your future press pack needs etc) by @bexcope

A theme park where you meet Elsa and Anna (and Big Summer Blow Out), walk around Arundel, stay up late to see fireworks for the first time, go on lots of rides which make mum scream sillily, AND mummy can drink wine? Disneyland Paris really is the most magical place in the world* (*or at least Europe) taken in Disneyland Paris by @bexcope

As the Italians say, “essere pieno come un uovo!” (Yes, that means I’m as full as an egg… and that’s a good thing, apparently!) Our faves La Bellezza are doing a new three-course speedy lunch menu (Mon-Fri, 12-4.45pm) and we tried it tonight, taking the last sitting at 4.45pm and treating it as an early (ish for us, we usually eat at 5.30pm!) dinner. Highlights for the grown-ups included the lamb ragu, pasta alla norma and pistachio profiteroles, while for lil miss it was undoubtedly the Signore Whippie.
