We are excited to announce a solo performance piece ‘Christening’ by Bianca Bisej will take place during the opening reception for our upcoming 10th Anniversary show! The performance will begin at 8:30pm.

From the artist:

“With this performance I will be examining these feelings of self-betrayal and safety through obscurity by covering myself in layer after layer of t-shirt, obscuring my form that I’ve worked so hard to achieve in an attempt to show the audience what so many in the trans community go through as an event akin to christening our new bodies in shame and fear.

The performance itself will be a restrictive experience. Actually making myself more visible to the audience through the layering of shirts, restricting my movement and embarrassing myself, exemplifying the “double-edged” nature of concealing oneself. You may be safe from people on the outside, but from my own experience, you also feel inauthentic. The piece shows the audience the harmful nature of not being true to yourself and the toll that the slow build up of insecure emotions takes on your mental state.”

Coming up in December, ‘Get Bit’ featuring works by Talbot Kenney, Noah Steely, Kenni Pham, and Bianca Bisej. The opening reception for 'Get Bit' will be held on Saturday December 13th from 6-10pm. The Eclectika is located at 711 N. Britain Rd, Irving, TX 75061.

About the show:

This exhibition invites you to Get Bit and experience the artificial hive mind of social media. We explore the impact of contemporary technologies and algorithms on the traditional family unit and the domestic space having their perceptions contrived and contorted based on what they consume. taken in The Eclectika at 711 by @beyonkerz_

We are excited to announce that a performance of “The Ol’ Ball ‘n’ Chain (You’re Nothing More Than The System You Were Built Upon)” by Bianca Bisej will be held on Sunday, September 21 from 12-1 pm. This performance deals with sensitive topics and will contain nudity. RSPV only and must be over the age of 18 to attend.

*trigger warning: slurs and sensitive topics*

This piece is a love letter to the lies and fear mongering that’s pushed towards queer individuals. The LGBTQIA+ establishment has been molded into a cowardly for-profit organization. This organization has set its eyes upon making all the lives of queer individuals that do not fit into their 6 “perfect” hues invisible. We have been told to hide our bodies if we are visibly queer; hiding what we’ve worked so hard to achieve and accept within ourselves. And why? We’ve been told it’s for “our own safety” living in Trump’s America in 2025. Bullshit. This performance is here to show those that have told me to run and hide “to a blue state,” that I’m done being afraid. I’m not going to hide my body. I’m not going to live in fear that one day I’ll be attacked on the street. In order to make change, you can’t always be safe. And I’ll be damned if I let years of being called a “faggot,” a “rapist,” and a “pedofile,” simply for existing go to waste by hiding what I’ve worked so hard for. The LGBTQIA+ Community has forgotten its roots in exchange for a month and some shitty t-shirts. This piece shows you, the viewer, what the LGBTQIA+ Community really is. It’s nothing more than the system it was built upon.

We are excited to introduce Bianca Bisej, one of the participating artists in ‘The Eclectika 2025 Invitational’!

Bianca Bisej is a multimedia artist that is particularly interested in creation through intuition. Mostly focusing on topics of the mundane, sex, and all things stupid, they think, create, and perform conceptually in order to form something that’s fulfilling to her and the material he’s working with. Whether that material be, plaster, foam, latex, or their own body, she attempts to communicate with and understand it in whatever way he can. Bianca is currently pursuing a degree in sculpture at the University of North Texas where they plan to graduate in the fall of 2026. She has shown work several times at UNT and in Denton, including an upcoming exhibition at the Denton Shed Show on October 4th where he will present a never before seen
performance at the opening reception.

The opening reception for ‘The Eclectika 2025 Invitational’ will be held Saturday, September 20 from 6-10pm. The Eclectika is located at 711 N. Britain Rd Irving TX 75061. taken in The Eclectika at 711 by @beyonkerz_
