Tired of dating apps? Come touch grass. Literally.

Seriously. We're starting a singles club where you can meet people IRL, get your hands dirty, and do something good for the planet. Because swiping endlessly through dating profiles is exhausting, and we'd rather pull weeds than play dating games.

Introducing the Buffalo Singles Invasive Removal Club! 💚

Put a Plant On It is teaming up with Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, CW Native Plant Farm, EcoGardenR, and Other Half Brewery to bring Buffalo singles together for a different kind of dating experience.

Our first meetup takes place at Delaware Park, where we'll work together to remove invasive plant species, learn a little about local ecology, and hopefully make some meaningful connections along the way.

Think speed dating, but slower. Outdoors. With dirt. And absolutely no awkward five-minute interviews.

4 weeks with Gus ❤️

An unexpected addition to our family that we simple adore! 4 weeks ago, Gus appeared at Mike’s workshop near Delaware Park, @bfloparks. After contacting the shelter, SPCA and posting publicly, we realized Gus had probably been alone or abandoned for some time.

In the past 4 weeks, Gus has gotten a name, a home, 3 new furry siblings, A LOT of love and treats. He is learning to go to the potty outside and that his cat brothers are not as playful as he is. Gus has a whole new life!

Our best guess is that he is just over a year or so, and some sort of pit bull terrier mix (DNA test has been ordered), but we know that he is a ball of joy, energy and love.

The day he came home, very skinny, covered in dirt and burrs stuck to his hair. He got a haircut and a few baths that day.

Later that same day. After a bath and shave, we got him to the vet ASAP, just to make sure he could be in the home with the other pets.

He got a clean bill of health - no tick bites, no fleas and everything else in good condition.

At this time, I nicknamed him “Razzle Dazzle” and he learned how to “sit” on command while we waited for the doctor.

One week after finding him and the day he got his official name - Gus ❤️ as well as a name tag and a new collar.

He has brought a new energy to Toby, who is approaching 10 years old.

And provided a “tug of war” companion.

Our Christmas pop up is the perfect place to celebrate your holiday celebrations. From groups to 30-200 guests…our incredible decorations, heated enclosed patios and delicious food, there’s no where better to be this December 🎄 taken in The Terrace at Delaware Park by @bfloparks

We are excited to partner with @NardinAcademy and the Nardin Academy Parent Association on stewarding the garden beds by the Agassiz Circle entrance to Delaware Park. It was so fun and heartwarming to interact with students and families a few weeks ago! Thank you all for sharing your day with us 🌷 by @bfloparks

Just keep digging! Today, office staff Sara, Corey and Zhi excitedly joined Noah, Julie and Lavender to plant some gorgeous perennials at Symphony Circle. After JUST two hours, they realize this job is no easy feat and returned to their desk jobs 😅 Needless to say, we are grateful to Olmsted’s operations crew for doing this work EVERY DAY; for their tireless commitment and efforts to keep our urban green spaces beautiful.

Plants that found their new home at Symphony Circle today include:
Smooth blue aster (Aster laevis), Eastern beebalm (Monarda bradburiana), Anise hyssop (Agastache sp.), Foxglove beardtongue (Penstemon digitalis), Blazing star (Liatris spicata), Prairie alumroot (Heuchera richardsonii), and Ornamental onion (Allium sp.). by @bfloparks

The Marian Coco Foundation is on a mission to champion safe swimming and active outdoor play for children and families across our region. The Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy is deeply honored to partner with the foundation and serve as an inaugural beneficiary as they begin this crucial work.
