Andy Burnham’s national security adviser, Jonathan Powell's wife Sarah Helm, award winning author, could face being arrested under terrorist laws for her vocal support for Palestine Action on social media: “God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action."

Under terror laws, this could constitute a criminal offence, carrying a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison. The ban has so far resulted in more than 3,700 arrests for backing the group, with more than 2,250 people formally charged as terrorists.

In response to comments by the broadcaster Adam Boulton that Rooney’s support for Palestine was “anti-Jewish”, Helm wrote: “God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action. Sounds like Adam would have all our books swept off the shelves in a jiffy.”

Police said the post was “in the process of being assessed” to determine whether an investigation was required.

🚨 Today in the West bank, illegal Israeli settlers burned olive trees, and attacked Palestinians celebrating the villages harvest. Many Palestinians were attacked, two people were taken to hospital including a Washington Post journalist who said: "I was attacked, pushed to the ground. Luckily, I had my flak jacket and helmet, otherwise I probably wouldn’t even be here, because they just kept kicking and kicking me,”

🚨 A severe drought has been declared in six areas of England with some reservoirs at critically low levels, threatening public supplies

🚨 Despite this, Burnham’s Labour government has yet to approve requests to extend restrictions on water use to businesses such as golf clubs.

🚨 South East Water, South West Water and Southern Water want to impose non-essential user bans on businesses to protect supplies. This would affect golf clubs, private schools and commercial properties. But environment secretary Angela Eagle has not announced approval for the non-essential user bans.

📉 Levels at two reservoirs are critically low. Ardingly reservoir, which serves about 95,000 properties in Haywards Heath, Uckfield and surrounding areas, is only 19% full.

📉 East Devon, North Devon, Somerset and West Dorset and Wessex Water customers in West Somerset, is at 16%.

🚨 The Environment Agency would expect reservoir storage to be about 75% for this time of year.

🔴 After a meeting of the national drought group, Environment secretary Angela Eagle said; "I’d continue to urge everyone to think about how they can use water wisely over the coming weeks.” 🤔

When Andy Burnham first spoke outside N.10, he promised "a new economic model."

❌️ But this pledge has already evaporated, after Chancellor John Healey ruled out raising capital gains tax to the same level as income tax at the budget.

🔴 Capital gains tax is charged at 24 per cent for higher-rate taxpayers on the profits of asset sales, compared with up to 45 per cent for income tax.

🔴 This perk benefits less than 1% of the people, mostly in London and South East England.

➡️ Workers taxed at higher rates than the wealthy.

💰 The policy would have generated £14bn a year!

At PMQs Andy Burnham ruled out a coalition with the Green Party over its "Zionism is racism" motion
