POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

👋🏽 Hey hey, booksta fam! It’s been awhile! In my 3-month hiatus from bookstagram, life has been doin’ its thing. Since I last saw you last: I reached my 5-year bookstaversary 🎉, spent some time traveling in the Pacific Northwest🌲, celebrated a milestone birthday 🥳, had some really delicious meals with friends 🍕, added a few books to my TBR (looking at you, KATABASIS 👀), struggled through a reading rut 😭, and finally started my fall season reads 🍂.

Currently, I’m listening to MISTBORN // Brandon Sanderson and physically reading THE BETWITCHING // Silvia Moreno Garcia.

What are you all reading? What else did I miss?! ✨

Thank for the assist, booksta fam!

Happy Monday, booksta fam! Cozy season is finally here, and summer is coming to an end this week, as evidenced by a very cloudy and chilly beach weekend. ☁️🩶 But somehow it was still the perfect setting for some contemplative poetry by Lee Seong-bok in THAT SUMMER’S END. Thank you @aaknopf for this beautiful gifted edition!

These poems are so quiet and reflective about grief, youth, love, growing older, and impermanence. And, with some beautiful callouts to nature! 🌊🌲

I’m wrapping up my reading summer with FRUIT FLY // Josh Silver, which I’m enjoying immensely, and am eager to start driving into some of my witchy fall reads after this one.

What’s in your autumn reading list?! 🤎🍂

Friday is almost hereee! I’ve been in a little bit of a reading rut this week, but I’m making my way back! Last weekend was all about books and dogs though, and it was perfect. Highly recommend grabbing a friend, a book, and planning a reading getaway!

I finally finished FRUIT FLY // Josh Silver. I gave it 3.5 ⭐️. It was advertised as darkly humorous but I found it more dark than humorous 😬. I appreciated the writing style but didn’t quite enjoy this one as much as I was hoping. Oh well, onto the next!

Happy October btw! Anything you’re looking forward to doing or reading this month? 👻🎃✨

Heya booksta pals! A little delayed, but here’s a recap of last weekend.✨🏄🏽‍♀️📖 It was so much fun! I ate delicious food, met some new friends, went surfing (for the first time in years!), did some shopping, and perused the local bookstore. Is it the weekend yet?! I’m ready!

I’m still finishing up ROSE IN CHAINS // Julie Soto. I’m enjoying it but it’s not capturing my attention like I hoped! The story is interesting but it’s been hard to feel like I *want* to pick up the book to read 😭. Oh well, 100 more pages to go!

Do you have a long weekend coming up? Any fun plans?

YESTERYEAR // Caro Claire Burke
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Happy Friday!! Hope everyone had a good week and is looking forward to lots of R&R this weekend.📖☀️☕️🌊 This week was busy so there was honestly a lot less reading and a lot more doom scrolling for me than I’d like to admit eeeek!

On the book front, I recently finished YESTERYEAR and overall thought it was great. The writing was so good!! The story wasn’t always my favorite and I don’t think I’m as hyped up about the book as others, but I can definitely see why it’s a favorite for many this year. Sooo curious what the movie is gonna be like!!

Did you read this? And how do you feel about reading books that have a lot of hype around them? 😬

LAST, NOW, NEXT 📚👻

It’s a new week and a new read! I recently finished YESTERYEAR // Caro Claire Burke and I have so many thoughts! I gave it a 4⭐️ overall since I think it was so sharply written, but honestly didn’t always enjoy reading it 😅. It honestly probably needs its own review post!

I took a break from contemporary fiction to jump back into some fantasy with ROSE IN CHAINS // Julie Soto. So far, I’m enjoying the escape and it makes for a fun read knowing it’s based off of a Harry Potter Dramoine fanfic 🤓.

Up next is FRUIT FLY // Josh Silver and I’m sooo excited for this dark comedy!! It sounds pretty unhinged and I’m here for it 😂

What’s up next for you?!

FREYJA // Margrét Ann Thors
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eeeeps, long time no post! It’s been a busy couple of weeks, which included lots of bookish adventures and a few completed reads! Among them was FREYJA, an eerie Icelandic thriller, steeped in the mysterious disappearance of a child, a mother’s secrets, and lots of Icelandic folklore.

I really enjoyed this one. The Icelandic setting was atmospheric and a little spooky— I also really appreciated how folklore was weaved into the story. The writing was well done and I enjoyed never quite knowing what was folklore and what was fact! I don’t normally enjoy dual timelines in a story, but I think it worked well for this one. It also felt like the perfect book to transition from summer into fall reading!

I can’t believe summer is almost over. Has anyone started any of their autumn reads yet?! 🍂🍁

Hey booksta pals! I’m back from Comic Con and what a fun trip it was. I even had time for some local book shopping at my favorite San Diego bookstore @thebookcatapult 🤓✨. Such a good book haul, too! I just started WAIST DEEP // Linea Maja Ernst which I’m loving for the modern Midsummer Night’s Dream vibes and summertime setting.

How’s everyone’s week going? What’s your favorite read of the summer so far?

Hi from San Diego!!👋🏽 It’s Comic Con season again! But just a quick shoutout to @noevalleybooks and my adventure to pick up HABITS OF THE SEA // Shea Ernshaw (and explore some other potential reads!) last weekend. I’m so looking forward to this atmospheric read. 🌊🩶✨

How is your week going? Any fun plans for the weekend?

Thank you @wednesdaybooks for this beautiful #gifted edition of THE RIVER SHE BECAME // Emily Varga ✨. I’m dipping back into my fantasy reads since we’re just a weekish out from San Diego Comic Con 2026, so the timing of this book mail couldn’t be better 🎉!

The blurb: high stakes and action-packed—a relic hunter searches for an ancient fae object to restore the magic to her world, but must learn to trust her own powers and her heart

Hope everyone is having a nice week so far! Btw anyone have any fur babies at home? Do they also keep an eye on how many books you collect? 😅🐶
