Did you know that 1 in 3 adults in the NT love to go fishing? For many, Darwin Harbour is the place to go. But when you speak to people who love to fish in Darwin, almost no one knows that the Federal government plans to hand over almost $2 billion of our money to expand the polluting Middle Arm gas hub right in the heart of the harbour. Fortunately, we've got a plan to stop it! We've created a TV ad which we want to play during the NT's biggest fishing competition the Million Dollar Barramundi. You can find a link to donate to get the ad in front of tens of thousands of people at the link in our bio - and thanks to our friends at @counter_frame who created it pro-bono, 100% of your donations will go toward buying ad slots 📺 taken in Middle Arm by @biddle.biddle

I think this is the ‘worst performing’ reel that we’ve made together 💔 but I think that says more about algorithms than impact. It got 200k views whereas we normally reach a few million. I don’t think the question is why didn’t it go viral but what did it mean for the 200,000 people who paused to sit with this poetry? @plestia.alaqad : sometimes we live too much inside our own heads and forget that we are not alone. Among the billions of people on this planet, at least thousands will see themselves in what we share. 🇵🇸 by @biddle.biddle

The first Uyghur person I met was Nadira Yusuf 💙 Back in 2019 over a cappuccino at Pancake Parlour, I learnt for the first time what I would hear a hundred times over from Uyghur people: ‘Many people only know what the Chinese government has done to us. I want to show the world who we really are.’ - Nadira Yusuf (first pic at the launch of our other book ‘Seeking Asylum: Our stories). Six years later we launched @uyghur_resistance edited by Nuria Khasim (2nd pic). I am so proud of this collaborative work, featuring Nadira and 30+ contributors from across the diaspora. We’re now independently stocked in bookstores, we’ve already shipped hundreds copies and we did it all without any institutional support! Link in bio to grab a copy 📘 by @biddle.biddle
