To treat sets like singles.

As powerlifters the comps never change, it’ll always be singles.

This was something I got torn apart for in my comp days by the great minds on the internet.

“Look at this a-hole, he only can do one rep.”

Meanwhile it was a world record total.

So not much has changed.

But I encourage lifters to do what @curtiskrump is doing in this video.

Stand up, Rebrace, squat.

Curtis PRs every meet because he treats workouts like a comp.

I’m not interested in what you did in the gym.

I’m interested in what that translates to into your meet. by @big_papi_panora

The suck with the traps

Or

The suck with the titties

Disclaimer: I’m not telling anyone new to go to the gym. There’s too many people in there already. by @big_papi_panora

Science shit.

The studies.

Just go train f-cking hard.

Eat your face off.

Go to meets and win.

This is the info I held dear my entire career.

Not once did I ever read a study.

Well unless the study was about me. by @big_papi_panora

No I don’t only champions should coach.

In fact I think they often make the worst coaches.

I can’t coach geared lifting, there wasn’t really a learning curve.

So should new lifters be coaching?

F no, that’s absolutely insane.

Imagine showing up to highschool football and your coach is 20 years old and seen one game in his entire life?

So who should coach?

I think the best coaches are guys and girls that spent years chasing it.

Beating their heads against the wall trying to get better.

Making mistakes and coming back.

Plateauing on a program and not quitting.

Getting injured, rehabbing and coming back.

Then spending years working with a group.

It’s all really simple but it takes a while to figure it out.

It becomes second nature. by @big_papi_panora

If I have to see another guy that looks like my Starbucks barista explaining why Ronnie is doing it wrong…

Ronnie’s starting point,

That 230 pound linebacker from Texas,

Is light years beyond where you will be in twenty years of hard training.

Colton could go play lawn darts and still destroy you.

It’s just the unfortunate break up of genetics.

Some people just got it.

My friend in highschool never opened a book, never studied and got straight As.

I’d pull all nighters for a C.

Life’s a bitch, just gotta find out where you belong.

I had a friend that used to say, “some people are made to be on horses with a battle axe and some people are made to bake bread.” by @big_papi_panora

Footage of two of my world record meets.

I have no footage of the first world record

And not a single comp bench vid.

But this comp was funny as I’d just gotten out of jail.

I’d led the police on a pretty good chase

And I was doing well until I hit a stop sign…

So I had a brief stay in a gang unit in Cincinnati.

Was I in a gang? No.

It was the most overcrowded cesspool you can imagine.

I got out and a lifter/friend picked me up and informed me we were going to Nashville to compete.

He’d picked up our gfs, had garbage bags to cut weight as I was bordering on 270 pounds.

So we made a garbage bag suit and I sweated out 23 pounds I believe.

I ended up having a rough day of missing weights and making up numbers in other lifts.

I had to bench and pull over 800 which was unheard of at that time.

But I broke the world record

Which I needed to pay the lawyer… by @big_papi_panora

I came back junior year weighting 240 with a 445 bench press.

We had an old power rack in my garage.

It became my sanctuary.

became friends with the bully.

He’s arguably the most important person I’ve ever came in contact with.

Without him I would never found weights or westside.

I still thank him for that.

Is bullying ok?

No.

But does it work sometimes?

Yep. by @big_papi_panora
