Hattie Mae is on lockdown for the rest of the summer. She had knee surgery last week for torn ligaments and meniscus. Thankfully we get a couple weeks to recover together before I go back to work. 🏥 by @bigfatstache

I came home from the hospital today.
Everything turned out really good and the results were better than expected. So that’s been great. I stayed an extra day because of drainage but that’s better now so I’m home. ❤️ taken in Shawnee by @bigfatstache

I’m having back surgery (spinal fusion) on Friday 5/29/2026.

Basically, the arthritis in my lower back has pushed one of the vertebrae out of line and it’s pinching the spinal cord. So that along with some spinal root nerve impingement and a herniated disc has caused a lot of chaos from the waist down.

It really all stems from chronic inflammation and standing in one spot with my arms out for years at work. I encourage everyone to sit wherever possible unless you usually sit then please stand up.

After surgery and a couple days in the hospital I’ll be off work June and July then August will be a transition back to full time.

This is an appropriate time for thoughts and prayers if you’ve got ‘em. Send me all your love, light and healing energy. I’ll take all you’ve got. If that’s not your thing, dm me for my mailing address or Venmo. 😉
