Fantastic day at Brands Hatch watching the British Touring Cars! 🏁🏎️
A huge thank you to DYNES Recovery for allowing the grandson to experience such a fantastic day of racing. He absolutely loved every minute of it, and being able to see the action so close up made it extra special for him.
A brilliant day, plenty of excitement, and some very special memories made! ❤️🏁

Salivary Gland Cancer UK, raising awareness of salivary gland cancer, rare cancers that can affect the salivary glands in and around the mouth, jaw and neck.

Knowing the signs matters. Symptoms can include:

🔸 A painless lump or swelling in the jaw, cheek, mouth or neck
🔸 Numbness in part of the face
🔸 Drooping on one side of the face
🔸 Pain around a lump or swelling
🔸 Problems swallowing
🔸 Difficulty opening the mouth fully
🔸 Swelling on one side of the face

These symptoms can have many causes and don’t necessarily mean cancer. But if you notice a change that’s unusual for you or doesn’t go away, speak to your GP or dentist and get it checked.

What a day! 🏃‍♂️🔥
Another incredible Vitality 10K done, and honestly, I absolutely LOVE this race! The atmosphere, the crowds, the sightseeing supporters cheering everyone on, and of course the family support — it all makes it so special. ❤️

I was especially proud to have the Oracle charity name out there again. This charity is incredibly close to my heart, and I’m determined to do everything I can to raise awareness, raise funds and help get their amazing work noticed. 💙

10K ticked off… now the hard work really starts! 💪

Time to build the strength, work on the pace and speed, and get myself ready for what is going to be a BUSY 2027 supporting this incredible cause.

More miles. More challenges. More fundraising. 🎯

Bring on 2027! 🏃‍♂️💪❤️

The most amazing food last night, shared with some truly lovely friends. ❤️

Ricky, you are a true friend and an amazing person. Your mum and dad are something else too! Thank you so much for the incredible meal, and such great company. It was a truly special evening.

And as for the food… this was by far the best I have ever had! 🤩

Chris, the manager, thank you so much for your recommendations on what to have. The tiger prawns were simply unbelievable — honestly, there are no words to describe how good they were! 🦐🔥

An unforgettable evening, amazing food, and even better company. Thank you all so much! ❤️

GNR 26 was not my best race.

Training has gone really well, and I was on course feeling good at 8 miles… then I hit a wall at 9 miles! 😩 I was ill, which is something I have never experienced at a race before, so unfortunately it just wasn’t my day. But that’s running — and sometimes you have to accept that things don’t go to plan.

But WOW… what a crowd! The support, encouragement and love from everyone in Newcastle and all along the route was absolutely incredible. ❤️

I’ve now completed 6 Great North Runs. This one may not have been my best, but I still love it, and it will always have a very special place in my heart.

Three years after my diagnosis, I can still run it — and I always will. 🏃‍♂️❤️

A huge thank you to Oracle Head & Neck Cancer Charity. They are truly amazing and the work they do means so much.

And, of course, thank you to my family, my grandchildren, my fellow runners and every single supporter who cheered me on. Your love and encouragement keep me going.

Here’s to the next one. 💙🏃‍♂️

Three years ago today, I walked into a consultant’s office, completely unaware that in a matter of minutes my life was going to change forever.

The biopsy and scans had confirmed it — stage 4 cancer at the base of my tongue, which had also spread to my lymph node.

Then came the words that I will carry with me for the rest of my life:

“I’m sorry, Mr Fletcher, but it’s cancer.”

You can never prepare yourself to hear those words. No matter how strong you think you are, in that moment, the world stops.

Cancer changed my life. It changed me. It changed the way I look at every single day.

I no longer take tomorrow for granted. I live for today, and I deal with tomorrow when I wake up.

Three years later, I’m still here. Still standing. Still fighting.

There have been dark days. Days of fear, pain, uncertainty and wondering what the future holds. But every time cancer has tried to knock me down, I’ve got back up.

It might have changed my life, but it does not define me.

I’m still going, and I’m not finished yet.

And if one day it does beat me, I’ll leave knowing that I gave it everything I had. I fought with everything in me, and I never surrendered.

To every one of my fellow cancer warriors — I see you. I know the fear. I know the battles that nobody else sees.

Keep fighting. Respect the cancer, but never respect it enough to stop fighting it. One day at a time. One battle at a time.

Three years on… I’m still here. And I’m still fighting. ❤️🎗️ by @bigfletchruns

Out early this morning to beat the heat, and wow… I felt so good! Honestly, the best I’ve felt for a long time. 💪

The Coopah 2-hour run was a really successful one. I made the changes the coaches advised with relation to my fuelling and it worked brilliantly, so really pleased with how everything came together. 🙌

A massive shoutout to D3 Tape, genuinely the best for KT Tape, as well as all the other tape and recovery products they offer. 👌

Also a big thank you to Applied Nutrition. Their pre-workout, energy gels and endurance drink really helped kick me on and keep me going throughout the run.

Another step closer to the Great North Run 2026! 🏅

Back onto the long training runs for the GNR in September. Today’s run was a warm one, but every mile in conditions like this is building resilience for whatever race day brings.

The goal was simple: keep it at an easy pace, trust the plan, and keep moving forward. Not every run is about speed—sometimes it’s about showing up, putting the work in, and getting stronger, one mile at a time.

And of course… every long run deserves a well-earned latte at the finish. ☕🏃‍♂️ Bring on the next one!

Early morning hill session before work, getting it done before the heat kicks in. I used to hate hills, but I’m starting to enjoy hill sprints… not fully converted just yet, but I’m getting there. 💪⛰️

Sometimes the sessions you dread the most become the ones you benefit from the most.

As a Head & Neck Cancer patient, this day is incredibly important to me, and I want to help raise awareness.

We regularly check the rest of our bodies for changes, but we should also be checking our necks and being aware of any unusual changes or symptoms.

Head & Neck Cancer can affect anyone, and early detection can make a real difference.

So, if you do one thing today, please take a moment to check your neck—as well as the rest of your body—and speak to your GP if you notice anything unusual or concerning.

Let’s raise awareness, encourage early detection, and look out for one another. ❤️
