Happy German Unity Day! 🇩🇪

Today was an easy recovery run after the marathon on Sunday and my legs felt amazing 😍 oh and maybe you’ll recognize the background here from this year’s Berlin Marathon medal 🏅

Happy medal Monday from Berlin! 🇩🇪

This year’s medal shows the Victory Column near the start and finish of the race in the Tiergarten Park - a great and beautiful memento of a fantastic race!

Berlin Marathon 2026 🇩🇪 Official time: 3:54:01

First half was perfect, cool temps and shady route. My splits were right on the mark too. Then the second half was quite a bit warmer (up to 24 deg C), which sapped me of energy and then I had to be sick 🤢 I had to walk/run a good chunk after that but then the crowds in the last 5k really gave me a boost of motivation/energy that I didn’t expect. Can’t believe I still managed a sub 4 hr marathon tbh 😱 pretty happy with that even if the race didn’t go exactly to plan!

Thanks everyone for all supportive messages! It means a lot 🫶

Last 30k long run before my race season kicks off! Felt very good until the last 5k (GI issue 💩) but still a solid run. So ready to get racing 🚀🚀🚀

Anyone coming to these races? If so, hope to see you there 👋
