POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
1 year ago, we shared one of the biggest rescue situations we had ever taken on. What started as concern for a large group of Belgian Malinois quickly turned into Big Mac’s K9 Rescue stepping in to help save and place nearly 20 purebred Malinois puppies and dogs. Within about 2 months, every single one of them was safe, vetted, and adopted into homes. 🖤 Looking back at these photos now is surreal. At the time, it was nonstop coordination, emergency planning, networking, transport, vet visits, sleepless nights, and trying to figure out how to make the impossible work. But somehow, it did. Today, these dogs are thriving all over the country. Some became beloved family pets. Some became service dogs. Some are working dogs protecting dignitaries. Some are literally jumping out of helicopters and living the high-drive working lives they were bred for. Watching where these dogs ended up has been incredible. What once looked like a heartbreaking situation became one of the most successful rescue efforts we have ever been part of. We wanted to reshare this as a reminder of what rescue can accomplish when people come together. Big Mac’s K9 Rescue has always been willing to step into the hard situations, especially for working breeds that are often misunderstood or overlooked. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared posts, transported, adopted, networked, or supported us during this rescue effort. You helped completely change the outcome for nearly 20 incredible Malinois. 🐾 https://www.local10.com/news/local/2024/09/13/cruel-man-kept-puppies-stacked-in-tiny-cage-behind-north-miami-beach-gas-station-cops-say/ by @bigmacsk9rescue

Big Mac’s K9 Rescue’s Biggest Rescue! Many of you are familiar with this K9 confiscation case. We worked hard for several months with other K9 advocates and law enforcement agencies to rescue these dogs. https://www.local10.com/news/local/2024/09/18/miami-dade-detective-recounts-finding-puppies-stuffed-in-tiny-cage-behind-gas-station/ We are so excited to announce that we have all of the surviving dogs that were involved with this case at our rescue and many posted in the photos. There are a total of 14 dogs rescued. Six, 7 month old Belgian malinois (3 males, 3 females) One, 2 yr old Belgian malinois (mother of the 7 month olds) Five, 4 month old Belgian malinois (dna tested 100% malinois- 3 males, 2 females) One, two year old female, Belgian malinois One, theee year old female, Belgian malinois All appear to be in overall good heath and up to date on vaccines. They will all be going to our personal vet in the coming days. They have all shown great personalities, well socialized, and overall great dogs! Applications for dogs will be accepted, and pre approved adopters have first priority. Located in South Florida. 🌴 We are in need of puppy food, extra bowls, grooming assistance. We are in the middle of trying to add additional kennels so any assistance during this time is greatly appreciated! Donations can be made to www.givebutter.com/bigmacsk9rescue or directly through our website. Individual photos will be posted in the coming days as well but for now you get a photo of a chaotic pool party for the babies! K9 RECON IS SAFE! After weeks of calls, emails, legal research and refusing to give up, K9 Recon has officially been released to Big Mac’s K9 Rescue! WELCOME TO THE BIG MAC’S PACK, RECON! Recon wasn’t simply “at risk” of euthanasia. Because of the circumstances of his case, Florida law mandated that he be euthanized. We had to find a lawful path to change that outcome. Osceola County Animal Services did a phenomenal job keeping Recon engaged, enriched and cared for within the parameters they were given. They were rooting for him, too, but the legal situation was out of their hands. We eventually connected with Deputy County Manager Lee Massie, who listened, took Recon’s situation seriously and helped us navigate the legal process necessary for Recon to be released to Big Mac’s. We also want to clear up some confusion. Recon had two handlers during his career. Handler Garcia was one of them, and she rallied behind Recon, advocated for him and fought to help save his life. WHAT’S NEXT? Recon will enter our K9 Decompression Program in a home environment with Mike Pintacura, our Head Military & Law Enforcement K9 Decompression Handler. Mike is a MSG (Ret.), U.S. Army Special Forces, and former Command Sergeant Major (Resigned), Florida State Guard Special Missions Unit. When he heard we were getting Recon, he dropped everything to be part of this day. Recon will be given the time, structure and support he needs to decompress and prepare for home life again. When he’s ready, Handler Garcia will have the first opportunity to adopt her former partner. To everyone who emailed, called the Governor’s Office and local officials, shared Recon’s story or helped us make the right connections: THANK YOU. You didn’t just share a post. You took action for Recon. His fate had been decided by statute. We had to find a legal way to save him. And we did. Recon spent years serving. Now it’s our turn to serve him. If you’d like to donate towards K9 RECON please use: https://givebutter.com/bigmacsk9rescue WELCOME TO THE BIG MAC’S PACK, RECON! #K9Recon #ReconIsSafe #bigmacsk9rescue by @bigmacsk9rescue

🔥 CLARKE | BUILT DIFFERENT. The looks. The presence. The potential. This boy has it ALL. Meet Clarke, a ridiculously stunning, 2-year-old brindle Dutch Shepherd who’s finally getting his shot at the good life. Clarke has been at a K9 sanctuary since he was just a puppy. When we met him, we saw something we couldn’t walk away from. This dog has way too much potential to spend his life without a family of his own. So we scooped him up. And now it’s Clarke’s time to shine. Clarke is the kind of dog who doesn’t give his trust away for free. He’s going to need some time to settle in, get comfortable, and figure out his new people. But once those walls come down? We believe there’s one incredibly loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion waiting on the other side. And here’s the kicker: Clarke has shown no reactivity toward dogs, cats, or even chickens! This boy has the looks of a serious K9, but he’s not looking for a badge or a job. He’s looking for his people. 🐾 THE STATS: • Dutch Shepherd | 2 years old • Male | Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Healthy and ready for adoption • No observed reactivity toward dogs, cats, or chickens • Currently in professional K9 Obedience training • Located in South Florida Clarke needs someone patient enough to earn his trust and confident enough to let him come into his own. He’s got the looks. He’s got the potential. Now he just needs the home. 🐾 READY TO MEET CLARKE? 🌐 Apply to adopt: www.bigmacsk9recue.com 📧 Questions? bigmacsk9rescue@gmail.com 📍 South Florida | Big Mac’s K9 Rescue #BigMacsK9Rescue #DutchShepherd #AdoptClarke #BuiltDifferent #southflorida by @bigmacsk9rescue

K9 RECON STILL NEEDS HIS BACKUP. 🚓🚨 Back in August 2026, we shared K9 Recon’s story. After years serving the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, a serious bite involving a child on his first day of retirement changed everything. He had not been properly introduced into the home, and multiple factors contributed to the bite. Deemed a “dangerous dog,” he faced statutorily mandated euthanasia. Osceola County Animal Services worked tirelessly with @bigmacsk9rescue and county officials to save him and secure his legal release into our K9 Decompression Program. We’ve been overwhelmed with questions about K9 Recon going home with the former handler who fought for him. We appreciate her advocacy and want to clarify that we have not denied her the opportunity to adopt him or kept him from her. We initially agreed to take him with the understanding that he had a committed home with her. Unfortunately, that arrangement did not work out, so he remains in our care. K9 Recon has made HUGE strides with our head K9 handler, Mike Pintacura, @legion18z and is READY FOR ADOPTION! • 8-year-old male Belgian Malinois; retired dual-purpose K9 • Located in South Florida • Neutered, vaccinated and healthy • Gets along with other dogs • Experienced working-dog home needed • Child-free home preferred He’s thriving in an active home routine and needs a handler who will continue providing structure, training and consistency. We continue covering his food, veterinary care, training, enrichment, liability insurance, registration and secure housing associated with his dangerous-dog designation. Thank you to everyone who has donated. Please help us sustain his care by donating and sharing—and help him find his permanent home. DOLLY 🎀🌪️🐾 We’ve received a TON of applications for Dolly, but despite all the interest, we still haven’t found her perfect match! Dolly is a young Belgian Malinois with a HUGE personality, incredible intelligence, and enough energy to power a small city! She’s sweet, affectionate, playful, and absolutely hilarious. She’s also WILD, mouthy, stubborn, and everything you’d expect from a high-drive Malinois puppy! Now that she’s been with us, we’ve really gotten to know her personality. She’s incredibly smart, learns quickly, and has endless potential. But she’s also going to test boundaries, push limits, and need someone who knows how to channel all that drive. ABOUT DOLLY: 🐾 Approximately 4–5 months old 🐾 Crate trained and house trained 🐾 Good with other dogs 🐾 Has done well with kids 10+ 🐾 Cats unknown 🐾 Extremely intelligent, energetic & driven 📍 South Florida EXPERIENCED MALINOIS HOME REQUIRED! We’re looking for someone with genuine, hands-on Malinois experience who understands the breed’s intensity and need for structure, training, and mental stimulation. While German Shepherd experience is valuable, a high-drive Malinois is a different ballgame! Dolly isn’t going to grow out of her energy. She’s going to grow INTO it! We’ve had plenty of applications. What we’re waiting for is the RIGHT application. We’re not rushing her placement. Dolly deserves someone who understands her, appreciates her crazy little personality, and can help her become the incredible dog she’s capable of being. Somewhere out there is a Malinois person who’s going to see this adorable little lunatic and say, “THAT’S MY DOG!” And that’s exactly who we’re looking for. ❤️ 🌐 Apply to adopt Dolly and view all our adoptable dogs: www.bigmacsk9rescue.com Big Mac’s K9 Rescue #BelgianMalinois #MalinoisRescue #AdoptDolly #WorkingDog #BigMacsK9Rescue AdoptDontShop by @bigmacsk9rescue
