More from Problemista with @spaceprincejulio and @a24! We built and filmed this miniature set in our studio, complete with stop-motion animated moving parts. The live-action background plate was shot on location in Puerto Rico.

Here’s a little glimpse behind the scenes of Snowman Paul for Sprint, and an exclusive first look at @davidbellstudio’s performance reference. #stopmotion #animation #sprint #blackfriday #snowmanpaul #puppet #miniature #puppetanimation #stopmotionanimation #bigobjectstudio by @bigobjectstudio

I started my directing career in miniatures so when I was asked to interview John Cena & the cast of Matchbox The Movie I knew this was a chance to make something special for the cast with the cars I played with as a kid. I called my friend @davidbellstudio and together we custom detailed five miniature cars using UV printing and hand-painting. Thanks to @AppleTV & @mattel for the opportunity and to the cast for being so lovely! #behindthescenes #miniatures #matchboxthemovie by @bigobjectstudio

A visit to the stop motion film studio @bigobjectstudio where we got to see behind the scenes of how stop motion movies are made, from fabrication to filming.

Founder @davidbellstudio showed us clay sculptures, cast molds, rubberized moveable characters, sets and tools. We talked about the working with clients, the creative teams, the filming process, the different 3D printers used, and so much more.

So much talent and a wide array of skills goes into making stop motion films, you can really sense how a love for the medium is a key part of the process.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Greenpoint Open Studios. This set was on display all weekend—a modular cityscape for The Sacred Engine, our stop-motion short film in progress. It was built in four different scales to create forced perspective for the camera. The film has been on the shelf for a little while but we’re making some progress again. Visiting Miami for Art Basel? Be sure to experience the 100th anniversary exhibition at the newly reopened Miami Freedom Tower @miamifreedomtower
an installation by @local_projects

Here are some behind-the-scenes moments I captured featuring the partner teams at @bigobjectstudio and @dimensional_worldwide by @bigobjectstudio

A signature experience for Miami’s new Freedom Tower exhibition will be six (yes, six) monumental audiovisual sculptures, each telling the story of one era of the landmark building.

Creative Director @nathanadkisson: “These installations bring together three of my favorite formats to create something totally new. On top, a very complex 3D print provides a detailed view of the ornate Tower architecture. At eye level, we placed physical miniatures of historical scenes between a traditional LCD monitor and a transparent OLED to create a new form of mixed-media storytelling.”

Swipe to step inside the process, from an early rendering to scale prototypes. A big thank you to our partners @bigobjectstudio and @dimensional_worldwide for their craftsmanship in helping us achieve this vision.
