🎙️Hi. I’m Reva! Your new big sis 🤍
 …or at least, the one I wish I had. I grew up without a mom… without a woman to guide me through life.
So a lot of what I know now. I had to learn the hard way.

Through heartbreak. Through confusion. Through ignoring red flags. Through staying too long, through divorce, navigating friendships, dating and single mom life.

And somewhere along the way, I realized something: You shouldn’t have to learn everything the hard way.
So I’m here to tell you the things. I had to figure out on my own.

The things you’ve been overthinking. The things you’ve been tolerating. The things you know aren’t right… but keep trying to explain away.

This is for the girls who are kind… but tired and confused. 
Around here, we’re not becoming cold. We’re not becoming hardened. And we’re not staying stuck in victim mode. We’re we’re doing the work. We’re taking responsibility. And we’re and learning how to stay warm…. while standing our ground and staying true to our values.

Sometimes the best decisions are the ones you make knowing they’ll break your own heart. 💔

I wish I had understood that sooner. And if there’s one lesson I hope my children learn without having to learn it the hard way, it’s this:

Doing the right thing won’t always feel good. The fruit comes from prioritizing obedience over our feelings. Peace doesn’t always come immediately after obedience, either. And sometimes trusting God’s plan means surrendering something you desperately wanted to be part of it.

You can love someone deeply and still know that letting go is the right decision.

You can grieve what could have been while trusting that God knows what will be.

Because the measure of a right decision isn’t always how much happiness it brings you in the moment. Sometimes it’s the peace that comes from knowing you chose faith over fear, obedience over attachment, and God’s will over your own.

Sometimes a broken heart isn’t evidence that you made the wrong choice. It’s evidence that you made a difficult one.

And I’d rather my children learn to trust God through the heartbreak than spend their lives holding on to something simply because they’re afraid of letting go. 🤍 by @bigsissunday

At first, “he’s just too shy to ask me out” can sound kind of cute. 🥹🎀 But you know ya girl gonna unpack this with you so let’s take a moment to think a think a little further down the road…. 👇

There’s a difference between being shy and being passive. A man can be nervous, unsure, terrified of rejection… and still choose to act.

Because someday the stakes will be much higher than asking you to dinner.

Can he have the uncomfortable conversation?
Can he make the hard decision?
Can he stand up for you?
Can he set boundaries?
Can he risk being wrong, rejected, or uncomfortable and still do what needs to be done?

You don’t need a man who never feels fear.

You need a man who can feel fear and still move toward you. 💕

And please stop doing emotional labor on behalf of someone’s potential. You don’t have to figure out why he isn’t pursuing you.

You can simply notice that he isn’t.

💌 Go Be Bad at Something Today 💌

Great leaders don’t let their ego keep them from learning something new. They ask questions, they try things they’ve never done before, and they aren’t embarrassed to look a little inexperienced for a while.
Because they understand that every skill they’ve ever mastered started with being... pretty bad at it. 😆

No one picks up a camera for the first time and immediately creates amazing videos. No one starts a business already knowing how to run one. No one laces up their running shoes and goes out and runs a marathon.
And here’s the other thing….they aren’t afraid or embarassed to fail because they know that’s just a part of sucess. 💁🏻‍♀️

When they fall, they don’t make failure their identity. They figure out what went wrong, learn from it, get back up, and keep going. Then when life calls them to learn the next thing, they’re willing to become beginners all over again.
I think that’s one of the greatest signs of humility. Being secure enough to say, “I don’t know how to do this... yet.”

So if you’re in a season where you feel awkward, clumsy, or like everyone else knows more than you, that’s okay. It probably means you’re growing.

Don’t let your pride keep you from becoming the person you’re capable of being. Stay teachable. Stay curious. Keep showing up, and stay weird. ✌🏻

💌 People are often surprised when they hear the raw parts of my testimony. 💌

“I never would’ve guessed you’ve been through all of that.”

And they’re right. That has always been my calling. Let me explain….

From the time I was a little girl, I watched what unresolved hurt could do to people. I watched pain turn into bitterness. I watched disappointment steal joy. I watched people grow cold, stop trusting, stop laughing, stop loving, stop smiling at others in passing.

Even then, I remember making a quiet decision and prayer in my little heart:

“Dear God… don’t let me become that. Please. I want to give smiles to the world. I want to keep smiling. I love smiling! Doesn’t everyone?”

I wasn’t asking for an easy life. I was asking for preservation of a soft and loving heart, DESPITE life.

I wanted to keep laughing.
I wanted to stay warm.
I wanted to keep loving people, even after being hurt.
I wanted my heart to stay open instead of building walls around it.

That doesn’t mean I haven’t struggled with this. There were seasons I could have become bitter. There were moments it would’ve been easier to harden my heart, than heal it.

But every time, God gently calls me back to Himself.

If there’s anything beautiful about my testimony, It’s that God was faithful enough to keep softening me, while simultaneously allowing me to become stronger and bolder at the same time.

I spent years watching women believe they had to become hard, to survive.
I watched women confuse hardness and arrogance, with what they called confidence.

But if there’s one thing I hope to leave behind for younger women, it’s this:

You don’t have to choose between strength and softness….

There is something very powerful about a woman who is tender enough to love deeply, and strong enough to stand firmly.
