Stopping to say hi to Abbey at one of the places we waited for her near the end of her running career 🤍🌲 taken in Santiam State Forest by @bigtimbercattledogs

Abbey passed a year ago this week. I still think about her a lot and visit her favorite trail spots (including where I put her ashes). Soul dogs are a real thing. Something I learned with Abbey. 💔♥️🤍🌲🌲 taken in Oregon by @bigtimbercattledogs

A lot of heavy walking, no deer. The rut has not started yet but I always feel the need to put in the work. Meanwhile, someone is probably nabbing one from the road somewhere 😂🌲🦌 taken in Oregon by @bigtimbercattledogs

4th walk-in solo boondocks deer hunt. About 3-4 miles each. I'm systematically hunting sections of the forest where people don't go much. It's a lot like running....you've got to put in the work to see results. 🌲🌲🦌 taken in Santiam State Forest by @bigtimbercattledogs
