I started working with Alexis 4 years ago. This past year I thought - this is her year. She is a lawyer and we analyzed everything like it was a case in court. She placed 1st runner up at Miss VA USA to the ultimate winner of Miss USA- so she stepped into the The Cosmo system and Saturday night she became Miss Cosmo USA 2026. (Miss Cosmo is one of top 3 international pageants). For me-what a great year-there great ladies I had the joy to work with -Miss USA, Miss USA World and now Miss Cosmo USA! Proud to have coached these - Miss GA, Miss PA, Miss SC and teens-Teen GA , Teen KY, Teen MD and Teen TN! They each have made an impact and did so very well. Some I have worked with for 3 years to achieve this goal and some this year. Hard work pays off and congrats to them! by @billalverson

There she is- MISS USA! Justus Kelley. I first met Justus 5 years ago when I judged her as she made top 5 at Miss Virginia. So delighted to be a sponsor for Miss Virginia and work with her this summer for the title she was destined for. She works diligently in the foster community and I felt a real connection as I work in that area. She’s amazing. And it’s kinda cool to say cheers to the 6th Miss USA on my end. .. let’s go to Miss Universe !! by @billalverson

Saying good bye to your dad isn’t easy. I know how that feels. My dad’s joy was his grandchildren and his purpose was to take care of Mimi. Life has cruel twists with Lewis body dementia. A year ago my dad still drove. The previous December at age 89 he officially retired. Fought prostrate cancer twice- in the end his battle ended. Things I always hoped to avoid, in the end I felt honored to do. He and I shared his bday in the hospital (amazing staff) -I fed him and we were just there together. He got to hear via FaceTime -every grandchild tell him happy bday and he perked up. I was there in the quiet when the medication ended and comfort care started and he went to sleep. Dad believed men took care of the women in their lives. And he did for all of his- our changing family dynamic didn’t change that course - he loved them all. There was no in-law or divorce to him- it was family. My sister was a clear daddy’s girl. He handled things and moved forward. He didn’t worry because he trusted the lord and lived his faith. He believed in work- I don’t think he ever understood a flight attendants schedule or he just got great joy teasing Doug that he wasn’t working but constantly asked me where he was. I’ve left town for a few days - and it’s like dad exited so I could make the trip and not worry but to be honest he probably wants to know how I’ve covered my three days from the office. So much more I can say.. I’ve lost my rudder and feel adrift. It’s not an uncommon feeling for many in my position but I’m wearing shoes and walking a path that I don’t enjoy. He made it to 91. Worked until he was 89. Stayed faithful to the lord. That’s high bar daddy. A high bar by @billalverson
