The Unimaginable
.
At approximately 01:30 this morning Kiko suffered a massive grand mal seizure which continued unabated as I transported him to the emergency room, having him in the hands of the doctors some 40+ minutes after the seizure began.
.
At the time of his arrival into the ER his body temperature was 108 degrees Fahrenheit. They administered phenobarbital and Valium, which quelled his seizure. He subsequently lapsed into a coma. At about 7:00am the ER doctor informed me Kiko was still unresponsive and they were having a difficult time bringing his blood pressure up to normal.
.
People and animals are not breathing while in seizure so in addition to the high temperature he also was not getting oxygen to his brain for the duration of the seizure.
.
Believing there was a significant chance of brain damage because of the high temp and lack of oxygen during the ~45 minutes of being in seizure, and not wanting this baby animal to ever again experience what happened in the wee hours of this morning OR the incident he had two weeks ago, which may or may not have been related, I made the decision to send him to a place where he will never again suffer.

He was my joy.
.
Rest peacefully, Kiko. You were loved by all who encountered you. You were everything to me.
.
Those who met Kiko likely remember his loving and playful nature. He never met a living creature he didn’t like.
.
This is the first photo I posted of Kiko, taken his first full day here at his forever home on August 17th. I’m sad he never experienced snow.

Wound-up in The Tiny Bar as a hurricane threatened to wreak havoc and death and destruction on the city of Auburn which ultimately turned out to be just a lil ol’ rainstorm.

Couldn’t believe they had a mural of what many say is my mother on the wall of that lil ol’ bar.

Hangin’ out here in the Antebellum South town of LaGrange, Georgia at Lafayette Square, adorned with a statue of the Revolutionary War hero, General Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette.

The General also starred as himself in that Broadway play, “Hamilton” mid-last decade.

LaGrange, Georgia, was named for Lafayette’s home, the Chateau de LaGrange on motion of Julius Galford, when this city was chartered on December 16, 1826, honoring Lafayette, who crossed the Chattahoochee below LaGrange on March 30, 1825.

I worked the Power to the People festival yesterday at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, selling merch at the outside stand before gates opened, then the main stand for the remainder of my time there.
.
Had a brief brush with greatness when I sold a couple of event Tees to @DJLord, who performed with Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. It was a very pleasant human interaction.

At the end of our $90 merch sales transaction he handed me a crisp $100 bill and as I walked away to fetch his $10 change, he told me to “Keep the change, we all out here workin’ today!”

If you looked at me with your eyes closed you would most certainly assume me to be a soul food aficionado. It’s okay to open your eyes now else you won’t be able to read this review, which would be sad.
.
Though Baltimore-based @georgiapeach_soulfood restaurants have been around since 2020, they’ve recently had a growth spurt and opened one of their restaurants a couple blocks from my house here in Windsor Mill. It opened last month and today was my first visit.
.
Pictured here is today’s lunch, comprised of deep-fried catfish, mac & cheese, and collard greens. Included, but not pictured, was a cornbread muffin. Note the hot sauce and tartar sauce packets, also included—without being requested.
.
All this food cost me $22.25, not including tip ‘cause I didn’t tip and typically don’t when ordering at a carry-out restaurant I’m visiting for the very first time. Next visit I’ll slip ‘em $5 as a token of my appreciation for this highly edible lunch.

Stopped at The Royal Blue on Maryland Avenue to kill time while waiting on Pascale’s train to NYC, from where tomorrow she’ll head to the west coast for pop-ups and concerts in Los Angeles/Inglewood.
.
During the wait and between dinner and drinks, Pascale won B-I-N-G-O because she apparently has great skill related to randomly drawn numbers.
.
The Elvis Pez dispensers were the perfect winning gift choice over the Lite Brite set.
