Thanks to @wabadc for hosting the protest against the Trump Administration’s plan to turn Hains Point into a luxury golf course. This National Park is a treasure for people walking, biking, fishing, birding, BBQing, golfing, and dozens of other ways of enjoying this public space. The use of taxpayer dollars to ultimately reduce access to the public for more exclusive uses is lame and unjust. Our parks are a public treasure and not for sale! by @billnesper

Finally posting a few pictures from my visit 10 days ago in Copenhagen. After visiting with friends a bit north of the city, I got to participate in the Copenhagen Cycling Summit hosted by the city in conjunction with the Copenhagen Sprint race.

It was an inspiring few days biking around the city, (thanks @donkey_republic_dk) watching people ride bikes including a cargo bike race at @larryvsharry and connecting with so many great people working to grow cycling there and around the world.

From the US, it’s easy to think Copenhagen is mostly done becoming cycling heaven and can just sit back. It is incredible of course but there is still work to be done. There is a deep interest in figuring out how to do better, to connect more people to the places they want to go, to make cycling an easier choice for all and grow the cycling culture and industry.

The Summit ended with the formation of a new alliance for bike mechanics (there’s a shortage!) and a feeling of shared commitment from all of us in civil society, government, and business present to work together. A huge thanks to Henrik Lundorff for pulling together an awesome event and having a big vision for what is possible in Copenhagen. Special shoutout to my buddy @brooklynspoke for all the fun riding and hanging!

Ciao Rimini! What a week at the @velocityconference So many inspiring people, sessions, and rides. Also, so nice to see advocacy leaders from North America including @cityzenmn from @bicyclealliancemn @veloquebec @bikeloupdx @seattlestreetsalliance and more.
It was important to learn that we face so many similar barriers on different continents and how we will break them down faster by working together. Shoutout to my friend @brooklynspoke for the riding and hanging. taken in Rimini Italy by @billnesper

Awesome trip to Portland, OR a couple weeks ago. Oregon Active Transportation Summit was great thanks @thestreettrust for invite to talk about federal bike policy! Portland is so inspiring. Thanks to the leaders bringing bike projects to life. Got to see @psubikehub and all the university is doing for people biking. Got to hang with the one and only Roger Geller, and see the latest infrastructure with Briana Orr and @ajz_zelada and a major bonus to ride with @coachbalto and the Alameda Bike Bus @bikebusworld by @billnesper

Bill joined the celebration ride in Portland with students, families, and @CoachBalto, who’s helping communities reimagine the school commute.
