We built this modified ’51 Nocaster circuit for our friend Billy Moran, and it’s a pretty cool little setup! I’m honestly thinking about putting one in my personal Tele.

Position one allows you to blend in the neck pickup, giving you some extra tonal flexibility. This circuit uses a .001 µF capacitor and a 10K resistor.

We normally use Oak Grigsby switches, but with this particular circuit, several components need to pass through the switch’s eyelets rather than the standard pickup connection lugs. That’s why we went with a CRL switch here. Both are made by the same parent company, Electroswitch, and both are equally solid options. The CRL just gives us a little more flexibility for certain wiring applications, especially when you’re doing point-to-point work and need to attach components directly to the switch.

We’re considering adding this as a production option, but we haven’t made a final decision yet.

Is this something you’d like to see us offer? Let us know in the comments, and we’ll take it into consideration!

Thanks, everyone! by @billy.moran
