One of the best qualities to have as a bodybuilder, even if you aren’t a bodybuilder, is the ability to see what other people are doing, how they choose to approach their setup, how they train, eat, any & all of it, without feeling the need to question or change what you’re doing yourself.
 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not everything you see needs to influence you. Not every different approach needs to make you question your own. Someone else getting results doing something differently to you doesn’t mean you’re missing something.
 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can be open eyed enough to know other approaches exist, without being so easily influenced that you lose confidence in your own.
 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Separate what you’re aware of from what actually needs to influence you.
 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Otherwise you’re living days looking outside of your own process for reasons to question it, rather than looking at the evidence in front of you & making decisions on what is actually happening.
 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to believe your way is the only way. You just need to understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, have confidence in your process & be willing enough to let it play out. by @billystella_

On the hack, there are a few things I like to do that look subtle to the eye but are anything but subtle in return

Where I unwrack from is intentional, not from the top of the machine, but from a point where my knees are bent & quads are already under load. I want these reps from the first second to be hammering away as much tension & fuckery as possible - standing almost upright on this does little for me, other than waste energy, almost like no mans land. From first rep I feel what I need in my legs & keep it there through as many reps as I can with the load used

My depth into reps, again intentional, not as deep or ‘as much bend at knee’ as I could get - but as much range I need to sit through my quads. I’m trying to create distance between my hip & my knee, sinking into the hole where my knees then rock back/ up towards ceiling is not creating more distance - it’s a deeper range yes, but not deeper range through the muscle as I want it. Not how low can I sit, but thinking how far away can I keep my knee from hip, the moment they aren’t forward facing I know I’m just moving through space - and its much more of a challenge by @billystella_

Chest & delts. The most productive training across the board has been in my life. The best response I think we’ve ever seen in an off-season, cardio still in play x4 day/ week (stairs), digestion & how I feel food moving (my perception of it) is amazing on this amount of food (383P 70F 865C), energy is high - no draggy feeling (food selection/ routine & training doing a lot here), no niggles or things saying ouch - again normal for me, how I choose to train/ move mitigates this a lot. A good bit more to come from this push still, and I will force it to happen x by @billystella_

There’s a difference between moving a limb & using the muscle you’re trying to grow to move it. Just because joints move through a certain range doesn’t mean you’ve created the stimulus you’re looking for in the muscle responsible for that movement. You can move your arm through a lateral raise. You can move your elbow through an extension. You can move your knee through a leg extension. But moving the joint & making the target muscle produce the movement are not the same thing. People become obsessed with the movement itself. “Did I get full ROM?” “Did I get the weight from here to here?” “Did I hit the prescribed reps?” But none of those things tell you how the movement was actually produced. Two people can perform the exact same exercise, with the exact same load, through the exact same ROM & create completely different amounts of tension in the muscle we’re actually trying to train. The body isn’t interested in your exercise name. It just has to find a way to get the load from A to B. Your job as a bodybuilder is to make the muscle you want to grow as responsible as possible for doing that. by @billystella_
