I always say that the work teaches you. But only if you put yourself in front of the right work. So grateful for the chance to work side by side with the one and only @hairby_sep ❤️‍🔥! Uniquely talented, endlessly knowledgeable, bold, and one of the hardest workers I’ve had the pleasure of being on set with!! It was incredible to test everything I already know in a larger environment, with a bigger crew, at a faster pace. But it also felt like a personal masterclass. Assisting Shawn with hairstyles across all those long shoot days was something truly meaningful. The kind of experience you can’t manufacture and can’t buy. The fact that she chose to bring me along and let me learn from her up close is something I’m genuinely, deeply grateful for. Easily one of the highlights of my year! And a huge thank you to everyone involved!! The whole team made this week what it was! There are professionals who are good at their job. And then there are people who make space for others to grow alongside them. @hairby_sep is the latter ❤️‍🔥 Assisting her on this Nike project was more than a gig. It was a masterclass in the real language of on-set hair: - working fast without working sloppy, - braids, high ponytails, sleek finishes -executed clean, every time, - reading the situation in seconds and adapting on the spot, - taking any hair type, any texture, any mood - and making it look intentional and polished in under 15 (sometimes even 3) minutes! - and keeping everything intact through movement, sweat, and whatever the shoot throws at it. Because these looks needed to hold for athletes and work just as well for a casual fit. Getting to observe, absorb, and contribute at that level was something I didn’t take for granted for a single minute! Dearest @hairby_sep ! Thank you for trusting me to be part of your process❤️‍🔥. Some projects stay with you long after the last shot wraps. Almost a week in San Francisco, multiple locations, a full production crew - this @nike shoot was one of those experiences that quietly reshapes the way I see my work. As someone who has spent years building a craft in editorial and commercial beauty, I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always come from doing more of the same. Sometimes it comes from stepping into a bigger room. A different city. A different scale. This was that room 🏙️ Thanks to everyone involved! Artificial snow everywhere. Kids with endless energy. A dog with a very strong personality too 😄 Getting everyone to sit together, look into the camera, stay present - while snow is flying and landing everywhere - was a really fun challenge. We pulled snow out of hair, tried blowing it away with dryers, laughed a lot, and kept going. And honestly? It was one of the most fun and memorable experiences I’ve had on set 🥰 taken in Portland, Oregon by @bilokinart

Chaos, handled ❄️🐾 Multiple shoot days. Kids with endless energy. Artificial snow absolutely everywhere. The dog!! And about a hundred tiny moments that could’ve gone sideways. But they didn’t! What came out of it is proof of what happens when a group of real professionals shows up, stays focused, adapts, and supports each other - no matter how unpredictable the set gets. Huge shoutout to this entire team for the patience, flexibility, humor, and high standards throughout the process. It’s a privilege to work in environments like this, on projects like this, with people who truly know their craft. Last fall, we worked on a project for @sorelfootwear @sorel_jp , and this one was special from the very beginning - the entire shoot was centered around kids 🐣! Working with kids can be challenging, but it’s always such a joy too! Each child brings their own personality, rhythm, mood, and presence - completely honest and unfiltered. Nothing is hidden behind adult restraint, and that authenticity is what makes working with kids so special! Yes, kids are curious, playful, sometimes restless. Working with kids means constant movement - fixing hair, re-centering, staying engaged. It’s definitely more hands-on than working with adults, but always sweet and fun! Kids bring an energy to set that simply can’t be staged. Chaotic, joyful, alive - and incredibly inspiring.
