We are delighted to share that former BG pupil Jonathan has reached the final of BBC Young Chorister of the Year (Junior).
Jonathan joined BG as a founding member of The Rugby Choristers at Bilton Grange when he was 10-years-old on a Choral Scholarship. His passion for singing stems back to hearing “Miserere Mei” by Allegri sung in the Memorial Chapel at Rugby School on Ash Wednesday when he went along to a rehearsal with his Dad. The Treble Solo inspired Jonathan and he realised this was the pathway he wanted to follow.
His parents say that Bilton Grange and the Chorister Programme gave Jonathan the skills and knowledge he needed to follow this dream.
Jonathan said: “Bilton Grange was an amazing experience and gave me the opportunity to sing every day with other amazing singers and great teachers.”
Currently at Rugby School, he now wants to study Music at university and is an accomplished French Horn player as well as a singer.
The BG community is looking forward to the broadcast of the final on BBC One on Sunday, 18 October and we wish Jonathan the very best of luck.

Jonathan is pictured starring as Joseph in Joseph & His Technicolour Dreamcoat in BG’s 2025 School production.

If you know a child who loves to sing, check out our Chorister Experience Day on 14 November held here at BG.
