CALLING ALL MUN LEADERS 🌍
Applications are now open to become an Official at BIMUN27 Zanzibar.

We are looking for experienced, committed and dynamic MUN practitioners ready to lead committees, guide delegates and contribute to a high-standard Model United Nations experience in Zanzibar.

Applicants should have relevant Model UN experience, a strong understanding of committee procedure, good communication and leadership skills, and be available for the required pre-conference training and preparation.

Applications open 11 October and close 27 October 2026.

Only successful applicants will be contacted to proceed to the next stage of the selection process.

In April 2026, 250 young people from 12 countries gathered in African Leadership University @alueducation , Kigali for BIMUN Rwanda.

We came to debate, negotiate and build solutions. Before any of that, we had to sit with where we were.

The conference took place during Kwibuka32, the period when Rwanda remembers the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. More than a million lives were taken in about 100 days. Many of the people who carried that loss are still here, rebuilding the country we were guests in.

So we paused.

One by one, our keynote speakers and secretariat leadership were called forward to light a candle. No speeches. No applause. Just names being called and flames being lit.

The room went quiet in a way none of us expected. Delegates who had met only hours earlier were standing together, holding the same silence. Nobody needed translation for it.

For many of us, it was the most important session of the entire conference. It reminded us why diplomacy matters, and what happens when the world looks away.

We remember. We stand with Rwanda. Never again.

Last week, our Founder & Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Chiemela Samuel, and the President of the General Assembly of BIMUN26Rwanda, Mr. Muhammad Mubarak Abdulkarim, paid an official visit to Counsellor Clementine V. Msafiri of the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania.

The meeting marks a significant step in deepening the relationship between the BIMUN Development Organization and the Government of Tanzania, as we advance preparations for #BIMUN27Tanzania, our upcoming international conference in Zanzibar.

Since the launch of #BIMUN27Zanzibar, it has been amazing to see the volume of interest from prospective delegates and institutions.

We will continue to put in the work to ensure that #BIMUN27 indeed becomes the life transforming conference we’ve promised it’ll be.

The Win, The Recognition & The Future

The Ambassadorial Dinner at BIMUN26 was the perfect finale to a perfect week. It was a night of celebration, reflection, and to my surprise validation. Receiving the Best Diplomatic Reporter award, which was presented to me by Mr. Joseph Brighton Malekela (Executive Director, African Leadership Initiatives For Impact) is a milestone I don't take lightly.

It proves that preparation meets opportunity. Walking into that venue fully prepared wasn't extra; it was preparation. BIMUN has always been about "Better Together," but as a Mass Comm graduate, I learned that the truth is even better when it's captured right.

The best part? This isn't goodbye.

Zanzibar 2027 is calling, and we are already getting ready for the first edition in Tanzania. If BIMUN26 was this electric with one conference in Kigali and the main in Nigeria, imagine the stories we’ll tell from the Islands of Zanzibar. See you there, delegates, and reporters. 📸🇹🇿✈️

The floor was theirs, but the narrative was ours. 📰

One of the highlights of my BIMUN26 journey was leading the Press Conference on Day 4, focused on the deteriorating security situation in the Sahel region. I’ve stood on the other side of the table before (as Russia at the UNSC in BIMUN25), but being on the "Press Bench" gives you a different kind of power, the power to ask the questions that diplomats sometimes avoid.

Sitting across from the UNSC President, the Vice President, and the Delegate of France, we narrowed the global lens down to West Africa. The goal wasn't just to "report" but to scrutinize. That adrenaline rush of listening to their responses while mentally drafting the headline? That’s the magic of the International Press Committee.

It’s a privilege to blend my Mass Comm background with my passion for diplomacy. The Peninsula Post is always watching. 🌍📹
