The WILD workshop was a great success! Everyone learned how to slow, spread, and sink water into a landscape while focusing on growing with biology. Thanks to everyone that came out and participated. Thanks to @inspiration_farm for leading the weekend's events.

I'm looking forward to next seasons WILD workshop @theempyreanfarm

Come join us @theempyreanfarm for a WILD (Water Integrated Landscape Design) course where we will be learning how to slow, spread and sink water into a landscape to become more resilient in a future full of wild fires, droughts and also floods.

The land is asking us to pay attention. Flood, then drought — again and again, the ground forgetting how to hold what it’s given.

This August, come learn how to help it remember.

Over three days at Empyrean Farm, you’ll walk the land, read its contours, and design the swales and ponds that let water soak in instead of run off — guided by Brian Kerkvliet and Kyle Babcock, two teachers who’ve spent 30+ years partnering with the earth instead of fighting it. By the end, you won’t just understand water resilience — you’ll have built it, with your own hands, on real ground.

Camping and meals included. Only 15 spots, with sliding-scale pricing so this stays open to anyone called to do this work

With all the summer heat ☀️ Don't forget to water your piles. This is my most recent batch. Sounds great! Decomposing perfectly.

Happy birthday to our late mentor Dr. Elaine Ingham.

I celebrated by doing a #ceremonialcompost pile with @citysproutsfarm to honor her. May the microbes be ever present with us all.

Da Blob!

Found a Naked Amoeba in my Compost Extract

These are rare to find let alone see under the scope at 400x.

It is the second one that I have ever seen.

It is so much fun to watch them move through the water and absorb bacteria.

I planted these two garlic beds last fall.

The same number of cloves were planted and treated the same. The only difference was the first photo was treated with multiple applications of Biodiverse Compost Extract.

See the difference?!?

Cover your piles 🔥

Yes! I said it. Cover em up to keep em moist. Without water there is no life so.....keep your microbes happy and alive by keeping your piles covered even while they're cooking.

Bees sure are happy 🐝

My client has had this Rhododendron for over 50 years and she has never seen it bloom this well. I started applying compost extracts and deep root injections last fall and look at it now!
