It’s been a busy few months! I have still been immersed in all things bird. Spent the last few days on Grouse Mountain, getting this beautiful boy settled in! Triton rocked his first demos and did some amazing soaring and it was such a treat to be a part of ✨

Playing around with different ways to edit photos 🦅 can’t believe how grown up this big girl looks! Not long before she loses her remaining brown head feathers 🤎🤍

Owls have some pretty impressive camouflage. Up close you can obviously see Sitka, but from a far you probably wouldn’t notice him because of how well his feathers help him to blend in. The feather tufts you’d see on some owls, also aid with camouflage. An owls tufts make it look as if you’re seeing small branches or twigs that are part of the tree!
Sitka, Western Screech Owl.

Chili 🌶️ is moulting in his adult feathers and we think he looks so sharp! The beautiful slate grey feathers are his adult plumage. The ‘frosted tip’ feathers are from his first year and he will soon lose those as he continues to moult.
