It’s easy for me to fall into the trap of thinking that I’m not doing enough. I see my friends pursue careers, get PHDs, and start businesses, and I cant help but feel like staying home with the girls is not enough. There is some guilt that comes with staying home as well. I know being a SAHM is work but I wish I could contribute financially. This time is an investment though, an investment in my girls and also in myself. I often have to remind myself that this time is a gift, and it is fleeting. by @bitofbetsy

This weekend I was feeling super cute while rocking my pullover, chacos and colorful socks. I thought to myself, man I really have this whole granola girl look down 😝. I spent a lot of my 20s worrying about looking “outdoorsie” enough. I thought, I finally made it 🤣. Then I realized I just stopped caring so much about how I looked and I just wore what felt good. Imagine that, the secret has always been to be yourself and not care what anyone else thought. I especially love Emma at the end, a little girl who has all the confidence in the world, she knows exactly who she is. I hope she keeps that spark. #granolagirl #adventurmamas by @bitofbetsy

Third annual trip to Ripple Ridge!!! Hiked in to rain and out to snow! The girls did amazing despite the conditions, minimal gummy bears were needed to get to the top! We also found out that there is a legend of a time portal…a ripple in time. It occurs during the eve of a full moon and we were there on that day of the month! It certainly felt like a portal to another world when we woke up to a snow storm. by @bitofbetsy

Backpacking to Harrison Lake! This was the first time both girls hiked the whole way by themselves and even carried packs for part of it 😂. It was challenging but they did great! by @bitofbetsy

Random weekday in North Idaho. I love living in a place where we can get off of work and drive 5 minute for a swim and picnic diner. Summer is short and sweet here so you need to take advantage of the time you have❤️ by @bitofbetsy

We got to check off one of our Idaho bucket list locations this weekend! We snagged a last minute site at Lions Head Campground, camping right on the beach! Then took the long drive up a dirt road to the trail head for a natural water slide! The girls did great on the hike but did require a promise of ice cream to get it done 😂. by @bitofbetsy

When winter just won’t winter we have no choice but to take a “spring” hike! The girls did an amazing job scrambling up the steep trail and were rewarded with an amazing view. by @bitofbetsy
