THE STARS KISSED HER FEET — COVER REVEAL ✨

Writing each book in this series has asked something different of me.

The Sky Called Her Home was about proving I could do it—earning your time, your trust, your belief in this story.

The Darkness Remembered Her Name was about holding it all together—deepening every thread, expanding the world, and proving this wasn’t just a beginning… it was something built to last.

But The Stars Kissed Her Feet?

This one has been about landing the godsdamned plane.

The finale.
The convergence.
The weight of every choice, every thread, every piece of love and loss finding its place.

It’s been about giving each character the ending they deserve.
And somehow… bringing it all home.

So seeing this cover—seeing her—complete?

It’s everything.

Elyssara and Teddy stay locked in a silent stare, a thousand words of love for a man they may never reach passing between them.
“You’ll kill him,” she breathes, and the words sound like acceptance.
Teddy nods once.
“I’ll never forgive you,” Elyssara murmurs, reaching for Teddy’s hands like they’re a life raft as she drifts in the wide-open sea.
“I’ll never forgive myself,” he agrees, and his self-loathing is clear.
Seren moves to Teddy’s side, but he only shakes his head.
Her hand stills mid-air, like a love letter never sent.
Hurt flashes across her face, deep and old and unmistakable.

I do not fear being seen. I reject being observed in private processes.

I want to be seen for what I make without having to be observed while I make it. I want a public body of work and a private life. I want artistic visibility and personal incubation.

The more seriously I take my art, the more protective I become of the conditions required to make it, and so much of making requires going somewhere other people cannot follow.

I write out loud. Dialogue, mostly. I say the lines as I type them, in the accents of my characters, testing the cadence until it sounds right. (And yes, it makes writing in public tricky 😅)

And I’ve always done this because I wanted my books to translate exceptionally well to audio (and I think natural, witty, embodied dialogue is the key to that).

I wrote The Sky Called Her Home specifically with audio in mind. I have always heard it as a cinematic production.

So when @podiumentertainment approached me, I was ready. In fact, I’d been doing Joe Dispenza meditations imagining almost this exact moment for months. So when it came, I was ready for it all.

The contracts. The casting. Pronunciation lists. Production. The insanely specific questions that arise when a story moves from the page into somebody’s mouth.

Also fun note: People outside publishing keep asking if I narrate my own audiobook. Absolutely not 😂

I wrote the thing. But there are people who are exceptionally good at *this* thing. And that, actually, has been my favourite part of the process.

There’s a point where making art becomes less about protecting the exact thing that existed in my head and more about letting other artists meet it with their own expertise and making it something even more incredible.

Vincent Skye and @evelyn_rose_narrator have done that with this book. Evelyn, particularly, has found Elyssara in a way that feels almost identical to the voice I’ve been doing alone at my desk for years (so when I opened the casting options to hear her voice, it was an instant yes. Easiest yes of my life).

Today The Sky Called Her Home is officially an audiobook.

Not just my words read aloud. But another iteration of the art, made by a whole group of people who are very good at what they do.

And I love it. I love watching something I made become bigger than my part in making it.

Vincent Skye and Evelyn Rose have done such a beautiful job bringing these characters to life. Vincent is incredible, and Evelyn ISSSS Elyssara. The voice, the emotion, the softness and strength of her—she is exactly how Elyssara has always sounded in my head, and hearing her for the first time was one of those ‘oh my god, this is real’ author moments I’ll never forget.

I’m so ridiculously grateful to them both, and to Podium Audio, for giving this story an entirely new life.

The problem with being a mum and a storyteller is that apparently they are the same job. 😂 honestly I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to tell this story for years. My time has come.

This is why I write women who refuse to become the stories other people tell about them. Misunderstood. Reduced. Flattened. Called too much, strange, dangerous, difficult.

You can believe something is harmful without believing you should have the power to remove it from everybody else.

History is full of people who were certain they were protecting us from the wrong ideas.

So I see your proposal to ban sexually explicit books and raise you the intensity, frequency and volume with which I will write stories that free women from the sexual shame they were taught to call purity.

I HAVE BEEN KEEPING THIS SECRET SINCE JANUARY 😭

The entire Song of Stars trilogy is coming to audio with @podiumentertainment 🎧

And when I tell you I was completely unprepared for what it would feel like to hear The Sky Called Her Home brought to life like this, I MEAN IT! I cried. Immediately.

This production is better than anything I could ever have hoped for. There is something genuinely WILD about listening to a world that has existed inside my mind for years suddenly exist outside of me. And somehow, sound exactly the way it does in my head. The voices. The emotion. The humour. The tension. The tiny inflections in lines I’ve heard a thousand times in my own mind. It’s all there!

Vincent Skye and @evelyn_rose_narrator are absolutely extraordinary as Kael and Elyssara—and I need to give a special mention to the way Evelyn brings the rest of the cast to life because her Ronyn, Gellesk and Mavyrn are ELITE (the range Evelyn has 🤯). The skill that goes into performances like this is mind blowing. True artistry.

I genuinely don’t know how Podium and the narrators crawled inside my brain and perfected this audiobook, but they did. It is 10/10. No notes.

Preorders are opening SO SOON, and you KNOW I’m going to be sharing snippets and banging this drum for a long time because I now possess audio of the hottest Kael and the most stunning Elyssara and I cannot reasonably be expected to keep that information to myself.

And yes… that’s our Kael you’re hearing in this Reel. 🫠
