Ona ho musí zachránit, ale možná se stane jeho zkázou. ✨

Elyssara vyrůstala v temných uličkách a spoléhala hlavně na své dýky. Když se ale při pokusu zachránit přítele setká s tajemným válečníkem Kaelem, její život se obrátí vzhůru nohama. Zjišťuje, že ji čeká naplnění proroctví, hledání pěti relikvií a záchrana zakleté říše. Jenže mezi ní a Kaelem vzniká silná přitažlivost a jejich osudy jsou propojené způsobem, který může znamenat zkázu pro jednoho z nich. ❤️‍🔥

Na tuhle knihu jsem se dlouho těšila a zaujala mě především svou obálkou. 😍 Nakonec jsem dostala tak trochu klasickou romantasy, ve které nenajdete nic moc nového, ale jako kniha na odreagování mě bavila.

✨ Co mě bavilo:

- Mezi hlavními hrdiny to pořádně jiskří a místy je kniha dost žhavá. 🔥
- Příběh se postupně rozkrývá a chtěla jsem vědět, jak celé proroctví dopadne.
- Fantasy svět se odhaluje postupně a objevujeme další jeho zákoutí.
- Děj je tak akorát napínavý, aby mě udržel u čtení.

😅 Co mi vadilo:

- Pokud už máte romantasy hodně načtenou, nenajdete tu nic příliš originálního.
- Konec mě trochu zklamal. Přišel takový otevřený „bum“, který mi úplně nesedl a podle mě moc neladil s celým příběhem. Víc raději prozrazovat nebudu. 😅

Celkově jde za mě o fajn romantasy, u které si odpočinete a na chvíli utečete do jiného světa. Jsou ale i lepší knihy tohoto žánru. Pokud vám nevadí trochu známější scénář a hledáte fantasy s romantikou, přitažlivostí a trochou žhavějších scén, můžete jí dát šanci. 🌃

Druhý díl si ale klidně přečtu, jelikož mě zajímá, kam příběh povede.

SIDE GUYS WHO STOLE MY HEART ❤️

You know the ones. They’re not the MMC. They’re just hanging in the periphery until suddenly...wait. I LOVE THIS GUY. Here are six who stole my heart.

THEAR | A QUEEN CROWNED IN FLAMES
A giant ginger warrior clansman with rough-hewn swagger, golden retriever energy, & a wicked sense of humor. The inspiration for this post—and a side guy I was actually rooting for to get the girl. Sorry, Fiorean.

TARAN | KINDRED’S CURSE
Fiercely loyal, roguishly funny, & always ready with a drink, a joke, or a fight. He’s just the guy you want by your side, no questions asked. I literally wrote “Taran is my hero. Absolute king.” in my Glow review. Still stands.

LORCAN | THRONE OF GLASS
Grumpy Fae warrior. Dark menace. Growls, scowls, occasionally juggles knives while slicked with oil. Then Elide came along, & suddenly this big dude was softening only for her, guarding her without diminishing her, & realizing, Shit, apparently I care about things now. Yeah, I fell hard.

OSRIK | PLATED PRISONER
A beast of a man, a battle-hardened soldier made of salt, blood, & dirt, with loyalty that runs bone-deep. Watching him coax prickly Rissa out of her shell with compassion, frank humor, & shameless cockiness? Of course I loved him.

THERION “TEDDY” | SONG OF STARS
The general, the tactician, the man who’s always prepared & does what needs doing. Teddy is a man of duty, built around a vow he’ll honor at any cost—even when it starts to look like self-punishment. Watching him stay true while guarding a heart that feels far more than he lets on? My favorite stoic softie. Even when I wanted to yell, BRO, JUST FREAKING LIVE.

CASSIAN | ACOTAR
Okay, yes—I KNOW. Cassian eventually became an MMC, so technically he may not belong here. But I loved him long before ACOSF, when he was just Rhys’s hot Illyrian friend telling jokes & breaking shit. Huge, courageous, irreverent, humble, & somehow just as emotionally perceptive as he is strong. He can command an army, throw down in a fight, make you laugh, & still see what someone needs when they’re hurting. My all-time favorite fantasy male...no way I was leaving him out.

What a random month. BLINK and it was over! It was a busy and flat month, think I just need a holiday or time off to rest! But got some reading in, hit 5 pbs in one gym session, got book mail and some beautiful artwork and had some lovely family time

⋆˙⟡ Who is the FIRST fictional man you think of when I say “male yearning”? 👀

I need names. Give me ALL the recs.

Because I fear these men yearning have permanently altered my brain chemistry.

I don’t want “he likes her.” I don’t want “he thinks she’s pretty.” I don’t want shy.

I want DOWN. CATASTROPHICALLY. BAD.

I want the pining. The staring. The silent suffering. The jealousy. The emotional turmoil. The “I would burn the entire world down for you but God forbid I actually tell you how I feel” energy.

Give me a man who is hopelessly, pathetically, devastatingly in love (in fiction, obviously) and I will eat it up every single timeeee!

And if you know me, you already KNOW my top two yearners are Samkiel from The Throne of Broken Gods and Arin from The Jasad Crown. No surprise there because I talk about these men like it’s a full-time job.

So obviously, I had to put together some books featuring men who YEARn across romantasy, dystopian, and dark romance — based on my own reading experiences + some recs you guys insisted I add. (Yes, I need to meet Kaan. 🤭)

Because apparently I have dedicated my life to studying the art of fictional men being down horrendous for their woman.
