Mend it. Refire it. Love it again. ✨ The BKLYN CLAY Crack Repair Kit helps you mend your chipped ceramics with a simple kit. Instead of tossing it, give it a second life. The finished piece is refired, resulting in a food safe piece with a golden repair line that nods to Kintsugi, using only ceramic materials.

Each kit includes instructions and everything you need to repair 1-2 projects.

Fire With Us. No membership required. 🔥
Anyone can fire their work at BKLYN CLAY, whether you're a member, a student, or an outside maker.
🏺 Outside Firing Bring us your bisque or greenware and we'll fire it for you. 8¢/cubic inch (4¢ for members & students). Submit online, drop it off, and pick up in 7-10 days. Note: outside clay and glaze must be rated for cone 6 and pre-approved. Cone 06 materials will damage our kilns.
🎨 Glazing Appointments Got bisque-fired work? Book a free 3-hour glazing appointment, glaze with our studio glazes, and submit your piece for firing before you leave.

Have a large amount of work, or want to fire at a different temperature? Rent an entire kiln!

Cup Carving
CUP CARVING (KURINUKI) with Nadine Sobel

Kurinuki is a traditional Japanese technique that means “hollowing out.” You carve a cup from a solid block of clay, then hollow out the inside. It’s hands-on and intuitive.

Join us for Cup Carving with Nadine Sobel this Sunday, October 4, 10am-2pm at BKLYN CLAY West in Tribeca!

Nadine Sobel visits us to walk students through a handbuilding process including various methods for altering form by reductive carving and sculpting. Students will begin with a solid piece of clay carving the outside form with the use of carving bows and loop tools. Once the exterior form is finalized the interior will be hollowed out to create a vessel. This is a very hands on and intuitive way of working.
No prior ceramic experience is needed. by @bklynclay

Want to try handbuilding? Mugs are a great place to start! Learn the basics of handbuilding in this 2 hour workshop. An expert instructor will guide students through the fundamentals of coil and pinch methods as you create your own unique cup. Participants will get to keep one finished piece from the workshop which will be fired and glazed by our staff. This is an excellent workshop for beginner handbuilding students looking to dabble in clay and receive a functional cup as a memento of their experience.
