I spent the past 20 years impacting lives around the world through movement with one mission: inspire people to pursue their dreams. That’s what DANCA stands for: Dream And Never Cease Again.

Then 5 years ago, life tested whether I truly meant it.
One impact changed my life forever.

I went from feeling on top of the world to learning how to survive when the world felt on top of me. But my heart doesn’t have to change just because my capacity did. Life after a traumatic brain injury can feel invisible because people see your presence, but not the resistance behind it.

My body and brain don’t work the way they used to.
So I had to adapt. I became more intentional about the systems, structures, and environments I build around me. What once came instinctively now requires design, rhythm, patience, prayer, and deep self-awareness. Ironically, that adaptation expanded my leadership.
I stopped viewing systems as productivity tools and started viewing them as extensions of care, sustainability, accessibility, and impact.

Rebuilding from the rubble forced me to rethink everything.

How I create.
How I lead.
How I sustain vision without abandoning myself in the process.

Sometimes showing up is half the battle. For me, most times, it’s a silent victory. My recovery is still ongoing.
But so is my story. For the first time in a long time, I’m genuinely excited for what’s next.

This chapter is called resilience.

Five years ago today, my body made a decision my ambition never would have, and it stopped.

In Miami on October 10, 2021, the injury didn’t just take my movement, it took the only language I had ever trusted. I sat in the stillness for a while, and for the first time in my life, I listened to what the silence was trying to tell me about everything I had built.

Fulton Street raised me before the internet could. In 2002, I was a neurodivergent kid studying dancehall DVDs through shop windows, rewinding in my head at home what the storefronts wouldn’t let me stand still long enough to learn. I never set foot in Passa Passa. The culture found me anyway, because culture doesn’t check IDs at the door, it checks hunger.

That hunger carried me from a DHK battle title to Madison Square Garden, from Red Bull’s first dancehall dance creator partnership to assistant choreographing for Janet Jackson, from a lead role in a film shortlisted by BAFTA to 1.5 billion views. But the slides will tell you all that. What they can’t tell you is what Brooklyn teaches you when you’re watching through glass, that the people on the outside of the window are often the ones who see the whole room clearest.

I created a move called CLEARA in my bedroom, then Panama found it on YouTube before America did. Fifty kids in Jamaica got dance classes because I took my tour money and spent it on them, not on myself. The DKA method, DANCA Media, the 40 countries and 100 cities, all of it grew out of a kid who learned that if the door is locked, you study the window until you understand the whole building.

The dance was never the product, it was the field notes. Every battle, every tour, every video was research for a system I didn’t know I was building until I couldn’t move and had to finally read what I had written.

If you’re new here, you’re not late, you’re right on time. This is what it looks like when the sidewalk studies the boardroom long enough to outthink it.

Follow for inspiration. Caution: side effects include high levels of it.

1.5 billion views from a Dancehall-led movement. I was the first dance creator in the culture to engineer that.

The number isn’t the point. What it taught me is: attention, trust, ownership. Same mechanics everywhere, for 20 years across 40+ countries.

Most of the industry is still optimizing rented land. Platforms own the distribution, the algorithm owns the timing, and the audience is leased, never held.

I’ve sat on both sides of the table: the creator being rented, and the operator building the engine. Red Bull didn’t partner with me in 2016 for a follower count, they partnered with me because I understood the culture from the inside.

Are you building on ground you own, or ground you’re renting?

HISTORIC MOMENT AT DMFAO LAST NIGHT 🚨🇯🇲🔥

Last night at Coney Island, dancehall history came full circle. 26 years ago, dancehall legend Bogle immortalized the iconic “Zip It Up” dance move alongside Baby Cham and Foxy Brown in the “Tables Will Turn” music video—inspiring an entire generation of dance culture worldwide.

Yesterday, on Mr. Bogle’s birthday, @dingdongravers pulled @thecham onto the DMFAO stage to bring that exact dance back to life. 🕊️✨

This right here is the heart and soul of DANCA Media and DMFAO: connecting generations, honoring the pioneers, and giving the culture the platform it deserves. To everyone who came out and brought the energy from start to finish—THANK YOU. This was only the beginning.

Stay tuned. DMFAO is officially the new home for dance culture. 📈💥
