Campus Police Censors Black Student Org, Aids SU Republicans in Free Speech Violation and Hate Crime.

According to multiple sources, on September 30th a Black student organization on SU campus had their FIRST general body meeting interrupted by the student organization called "SU Republicans (SUR)", in a dispute in which the presidents of both organizations had initially agreed to a room swap before the altercation.

However, upon the SUR student organization's arrival, the SU Republicans threatened to "have the organization frozen," with one SUR member stating the implied threat of "if they're here next week there will be problems."

The SUR student org further escalated the situation by calling the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to act as their private security force. Egregiously, DPS acted as if that was their role, removing the Black students from the room.

Before being interrupted by the SU Republicans, the Black student organization was "discussing the pause on the African-American Studies department." A recent controversial move by Syracuse University to abandon the educational priorities of Black, African, and Indigenous SU students, staff, and faculty. by @blackatcuse

As @thegambian tells us:

"Now is the time to put some material weight [on Cornell University]."

Let's send a loud message to Cornell University that 2+ years of harassing Amandla Thomas-Johnson & Momodou Taal, two migrant Black Muslim PhD students, for their continued solidarity and work towards Palestinian liberation is fundamentally wrong and must stop.

Our boycott campaign will continue until Cornell University reinstates the PhD funding for both Amandla Thomas-Johnson and Momodou Taal.

Stand with Palestine and Migrant Students!
