POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Wednesday night was special.

theShift: Pivot brought together a real, honest conversation. Our speakers showed up fully, sharing their pivots, their process, and the parts of the journey that don't always make it to the highlight reel.

And the room received it. People stayed. People talked. People felt like they were exactly where they needed to be.

That's what Black Creatives RVA is here for.

Thank you to everyone who came out, to our speakers for being so open and vulnerable, and to this community for continuing to show up for each other.

We're just getting started. We're back November 11, join us!

Her path ran through fashion, music, wireless, state government, and media before it ever looked like an agency. She did not always plan it that way, she always built from it.

Last week we spoke with Mika and Josh (via phone) to prep for tomorrow and we are still thinking about the conversation.

We talked about how upbringing shapes the way we pivot. Whether pivots even feel like pivots when you are in them or if you only see them clearly looking back. And, we talked about what it means to make the decision to change direction versus having life make that decision for you.

Both of those things are real. And tomorrow we are going to talk about it honestly.

Join us in the room. Tickets are live... link in bio.

This Wednesday we are back with the next installment of theShift! ⌨️

The pivot is something we know. As Black creatives we have been pivoting our whole lives. Adjusting. Redirecting. Trusting a feeling when the path was not clear. Making moves that did not always make sense to everyone around us.

Mika-Taché St. Fleur and Josh Epperson are going to talk about it honestly. The pivots that shaped them. The ones that hurt. The ones that freed them.

Come join us in the room.

October tickets are LIVE!

This month we are talking about the Pivot. The moments that changed everything. The hard decisions. The times you knew something had to shift even when the path forward was not clear. And the honest truth about whether every pivot leads to where you hoped it would.

Sometimes the detour is the direction.
