I’ve been wanting to bring this one to life for a minute, and we’re finally here.

SPLASH is the first immersive live art experience from The Art Seen, and it’s about bringing artists, creativity, and community together in one space to do what we do best.

On October 18, we’re taking over Hardywood with live painting, art competitions, a pop-up art market, and artists creating right in front of you, everywhere. More than just looking at art, I want you to experience it, connect with the people behind it, and maybe even take a piece home with you.

Some places do more than give you a space. They give you a place to create, connect, be seen, and feel supported.

Urban Hang Suite has been doing that for creatives in Richmond for a long time. They’ve opened their doors, walls, and community to so many artists and creatives, and I’ve been grateful to be part of it.

I’ll be there tonight, so come hang out. Let’s talk art, look at art, make some art, or maybe take some art home with you.

But most importantly, come pour back into a space that has poured so much into our creative community.

As the Richmond International Film Festival comes to a close, we’re keeping the momentum going right here in Richmond.

On Tuesday, September 29, come behind the scenes with the team that brought the award-winning series Sundays After Church to life.

Presented by the Virginia Production Alliance

We’re pulling back the curtain on how an independent Richmond production shot 6 episodes in 30 days on a micro-budget—from writing and fundraising to production, post-production and distribution.

And yes… we’re screening Episode 4! 🙌🏾

Then we’ll open it up for a Q&A with the audience. Come with questions. Come ready to learn. Come meet other Virginia filmmakers and creatives.

You were not created for consumption.
You were created for connection, care, calling, community, collaboration, contribution, and credit.

Creativity is more than content. There is a person, a process, and a story behind the work.

For generations, Black creativity has been stolen, copied, renamed, repackaged, commercialized, and celebrated while the people who created it were overlooked, underpaid, or erased from the story.

We want to make sure the creator is never lost behind the creation.

Put us on. Tag a creative whose work and story deserve to be seen.
