We lost Teighlor 4 months ago, and it feels as if people want us to be “healed” by now. Capitalism forces us to believe that overcoming grief has a timeline, but it doesn’t. We are still trying to figure out how to move forward, but we’ll take all the time we need. We’ve received foul DMs on Twitter stating that “we need to use our platform or give it up!” We lost our family 4 MONTHS AGO, and we’re grieving. Thank you to the people that’s given us so much grace and continue to check in on our team. We appreciate you all. On a bright pink background with white texts that’s on a black highlighter. The text reads “We lost Teighlor 4 months ago, and it feels as if people want us to be “healed” by now. Capitalism forces us to believe that overcoming grief has a timeline, but it doesn’t. Happy Autism Acceptance/Awareness Month, I made this silly video last year and formatting it kicked my ass a little bit but I hope y’all get a little chuckle. I wanted to poke a little fun at some of the different things autistic folks online enjoy 😅 I love being Black and Autistic! I love our community and our culture. I’m hoping I have the energy to make more content this month 🥲

Today is my birthday. It’s weird to think about how I was 21/22 when I started Black Disability Collective and now I’m 24. I’ve been struggling deeply this year with my health and I haven’t been able to do much, but I’m hoping my capacity changes someday soon. Feel free to send love to my Vnmo: Teighlor-McGee and C*sh app: $TeighM 💓

A late night poem for folks to enjoy. I’ve been thinking a lot about memory and time and the way those things feel in my body. If you enjoy my poetry you should subscribe to the Black Disability Collective patreon! Patreon.com/BlackDisabilityCollective

We need to fight back against rhetoric rooted in eugenics. We need to protect the elderly and the sick and children. Those lives are valuable and they don’t deserve to be treated like collateral for the sake of a pathetic attempt to return to “normalcy.” #covid_19 #ableism by @blackdisabilitycollective

Small excerpts from my latest essay which is available on our patreon! Patreon.com/BlackDisabilityCollective
Text reads:
Crip New Year Mantras
1.) a broken body is still able to climb out of Gods palm and see the world
2.) I do not live in the hands of those who do not see my worth
3.) it is not my time to return to ash and dust
4.) I will not be half consumed and left as table scraps by @blackdisabilitycollective

We need to fight any rhetoric which suggests anyone deserves Covid, because it’s a slippery slope towards blaming people for any sickness they may have. You are not better than anyone else for not being sick. We need to reevaluate our moral compasses in the way we think about sickness. by @blackdisabilitycollective

I think we need to continue to talk about the difference in experience whether you were born with your disability or you acquired it. Neither is better or worse but these are different experiences that we’ve got to talk about! I’m so glad folks have been sharing their stories with us about it on Twitter! #disabled #disabilitysolidarity #disability by @blackdisabilitycollective
