Black Rabbit Gallery is pleased to announce the representation of Trung Hoang.

A Toronto-based portrait and documentary photographer, Hoang’s practice spans more than twenty years. His photographs emerge from the people and places he encounters, with an approach rooted in patience, curiosity and an understanding of what it means to be let in.

Born in Vietnam, Hoang spent part of his formative years in Toronto’s Regent Park. We are pleased to welcome his work to the gallery.

His first solo exhibition, Lately, opens October 15, accompanied by the photobook Lately: Zanzibar.

Discover his work through the link in our bio.

Black Rabbit Gallery is pleased to announce that Abundant (2026), by Daniella Williams, has been acquired by the Wedge Collection.

Presented as part of Williams’ solo exhibition Origin, Abundant reflects the intimacy, connection and relationship to the natural world that run throughout this new body of work.

We are grateful to Kenneth Montague and the Wedge Collection for their support of Daniella’s practice and for welcoming Abundant into the collection.

Art should feel accessible. So should the spaces built around it.

CTV Toronto visited Black Rabbit Gallery to speak with us about Origin, Daniella Williams’ first solo exhibition with the gallery, and the larger idea behind what we’re building in Regent Park.

A gallery where people can encounter serious contemporary art, discover artists, ask questions, spend time with the work — and feel that they belong in the room.

Thank you to CTV Toronto and @thejesssmith for spending time with us and helping share the story.

Black Rabbit Gallery presents Lately, the first solo exhibition by Trung Hoang.

Ten photographs drawn from a practice spanning more than twenty years bring together moments of labour, play, movement and stillness. Across different places, Hoang’s attention returns to people: absorbed in their work, suspended mid-air, moving through the everyday.

Join us on October 15 to celebrate the exhibition and the launch of Lately: Zanzibar, his independently published photobook, available at the gallery for $80 CAD + tax.

Daniella Williams — Origin

Origin marks a shift in Daniella Williams’ ongoing exploration of observation, intimacy, and the act of looking — expanding her inquiry into how we experience ourselves through our relationships to others and to the world around us.

Turning toward the natural world, Williams considers what might emerge when the body is released from the pressures of being seen, and when the figure is no longer defined in isolation from its surroundings.

Across the works, figures move through open spaces, shared moments, and natural environments. The result is a quieter examination of presence — one shaped less by performance and more by movement, connection, and physical experience.

Origin is the first solo artist presentation in Black Rabbit Gallery’s exhibition program.

Daniella Williams: Origin
September 10 – October 8, 2026

Black Rabbit Gallery presents Origin, a solo exhibition by Toronto-based figurative painter Daniella Williams.

The exhibition marks a shift in Williams’ ongoing exploration of observation, intimacy, and the act of looking — turning toward the natural world to consider what might emerge when the body is released from the pressures of being seen.

Across the works, figures move through open spaces, shared moments, and natural environments, becoming increasingly immersed in the landscapes they inhabit. The result is a quieter examination of presence — shaped less by performance and more by movement, connection, and physical experience.

Origin marks the first solo artist presentation in Black Rabbit Gallery’s exhibition program.

I think I need to start painting again. Every time I walk into an art gallery, something in me comes alive. And @blackrabbit.to Art Studio in Toronto completely stole my heart. The work is incredible. Art lovers, this one is for us. @bennybing

Over 12 weeks, six artists will receive mentorship, critique, practical business guidance, and the support of a small cohort committed to growing together.

There are only the moves you make, the community you build, and the courage to keep creating.

Applications are now open.

• 12-week program
• Free to participate
• Applications close August 30
• Program begins September 14

What does a gallery owe its community?

More than walls.

More than exhibitions.

More than a calendar of openings.

We believe a gallery can be a cultural anchor—a place where artists develop sustainable careers, where ideas are exchanged freely, and where contemporary art becomes part of everyday life.

That belief is the foundation of Black Rabbit Gallery.

Every exhibition, every conversation, every programme and every partnership is an invitation to build something larger than ourselves.

We’re not simply opening a gallery.

We’re investing in an ecosystem.

No paths, just moves. taken in Regent Park by @blackrabbit.to
