Dear Leadville,

For years I dreamed of meeting you. I idolized this race and what it meant to the community. I admired the grit, determination, and endurance it required.

Your community completely captivated me and my family. We felt important, supported, and welcomed. We formed incredible memories, achieved goals, and fell in love with your town.

Leadville- we love you.

To my crew: El, Bri, Mom, and Dad…we did it. The commitment you all made, the support, and the fun along the way made this all possible. Thank you.

And to those following along: thank you for all the love and support. I’m just an average guy not afraid of trying hard things. I was never a runner, and still don’t think I really am.

Each and every message, comment, and like I take to heart. I’m not sure I deserve all the encouragement, but I gladly cherish it.

There’s no mountain too high, race too hard, or goal unachievable, so as you put the work in, believe in yourself, and be a bit courageous.

Endurance begins where comfort ends.

And as for what’s next? Well, bigger climbs and even more miles. I’m not done yet.

He did it. Blake is officially a Leadville Trail 100 finisher.

After 100 miles through the Colorado mountains, two trips over Hope Pass, a day, a night, no sleep and one hell of a journey, Blake made it back to Harrison Avenue.

Thanks for following along with us over the last 26 hours. It’s been an incredible weekend, and we’re leaving Leadville with more memories (and footage) than we know what to do with… So stay tuned for the full documentary.

For now, we’re all getting some sleep and handing @ironmilesco back to Blake. We’ll see you guys on the next one.

Final crewed aid station.

The boys enjoyed some slurpees and quesadillas before heading out for another 5 miles, then Blake’s dad @blakebhunts will swap in as pacer and join him for the final push back to Harrison Avenue.

Let’s bring this thing home.

Halfway there.

Blake made it to the turnaround at Winfield after sharing some miles with @eliwehbe on the way up Hope Pass.

Now it’s time to turn around and do it all over again.

Blake has made it across the @buffofficial river crossing to the top of the biggest climb of the race: Hope Pass at roughly 12,600 feet.

He’s keeping his eyes on the prize under that brutal mountain sun thanks to @shadyrays

Next stop: Winfield turnaround which marks the halfway point.

Blake is back with the crew at mile 40.5 before heading out for the biggest climb of the race: up and over Hope Pass.

He’s swapping from the @mounttocoast H1s into the T1s for the ascent and continuing to rock the @reality_run hat.

It’s just another hike, right?

First marathon down. About three more to go.

Blake is through Outward Bound at mile 26 and seeing the crew for the first time. He said that runners are feeling the pavement more than expected, and he might ease up a bit on the pace to ensure he saves the legs for Hope.
