![@sunvillagehq Gio flew in from the Philippines to join us for the first edition of Singapore’s only experimental film festival. His film “How He Died Was Not Controversial” started off our Main program this year, spearheading the journey into the Southeast Asian side of the program. We were very happy and grateful to have him, and might this be the start of something more? 👀 Stay tuned!!

Download ![Meet the team!! The festival was founded by Raey Ang @thatfighterjet after her film got into BIDEODROMO in 2025, kickstarting the partnership this festival has with the European avant garde festival. These folks have all hopped on along the way and brought the festival into fruition, including @the_substation collaborating with their two youth curators!! A small but mighty team, we are proud of the program we are presenting. We are all excited to see you tomorrow at 10square at Orchard Central!!
P.S. yes we were lit by a projector, the light that lights all cinemas.
P.P.S. The blank expressions are on purpose.
✨come fill in the (blank) with us✨
See you tomorrow!!

Co-presented by @globalculturalalliance
The Main category is where this festival’s curatorial vision comes into its sharpest focus: programmed by Festival Director and award-winning experimental filmmaker Raey Ang @thatfighterjet , alongside seasoned experimental film programmer Gabriel Goh @beyondtheequinox
This isn’t outside curation looking in - it’s two programmers working from inside the practice, selecting avant-garde shorts from across Southeast Asia that push form, structure, and image beyond what mainstream cinema allows. Expect bold visual language, unconventional narrative structures, and work you won’t find on any streaming platform.

2 from Europe. 8 from Southeast Asia.
10 films. 1 mindf*** for free (well, $18.)
It is said by some that experimental films are actually the antithesis of AI slop, for its methods of unconventional cinematic practices and storytelling challenges your mind to think in ways it usually does not. It’s wild, it’s trippy, it’s the Main category to Singapore’s only experimental film festival. The one place you can view of these films in one go for a night, walking out with a high that will stay with you for a long time.
Rated NC16 - ID checks at the door.
