The Battle of Tarawa – 1943

The Battle of Tarawa was one of the fiercest battles in the Pacific during World War II. It took place from November 20 to November 23, 1943, on Betio Island, part of the Tarawa Atoll in the Gilbert Islands, which are now part of Kiribati. The battle was part of the larger American Operation Galvanic.

The United States wanted to capture Tarawa because of its important location in the central Pacific. The island had an airfield that could be used as a base for further American operations against Japanese-held islands. The main Japanese defenses were located on the small island of Betio. More than 4,500 Japanese troops defended the island, including heavily armed naval troops and other personnel.

We, @blaze_br1x and @trench__raider , are proud to present our collaboration, which we have been working on over the past couple of weeks.
.
Both builds are connected by a shared storyline — they portray the true horror of any war: the loss of a comrade. Through two different scenes, we aimed to show not heroism, but the human side of conflict — the pain, the shock, and the silence after the shots fade away.
.
Both MOCs are dedicated to the events of World War I.
