@texcellenceconference 5.0 had asked me to be their Event Correspondent, and there was just one tiny problem…

I HAD NOTHING TO WEAR! 😭

Not the usual “my wardrobe is full but I have nothing to wear.” An actual fashion emergency! 😂

I reached out, explained my predicament, and this man basically said, “Hold my cup. I’ve got you!”

AND DID HE DELIVERRRR! 😭💜

Lavender wasn’t even a colour I imagined would look this good on me, but apparently, Mr Splendour saw a vision I hadn’t received yet! 😂

THE FIT! THE COLOUR! THE ELEGANCE! EVERYTHINGGG!

I felt beautiful, confident and ready to do what I was born to do!

Some rooms demand excellence. Others remind you why you were born to do what you do. This one did both! ✨

When @theenergyyear invited me to host the Nigeria Energy Leaders Summit, I knew I was being entrusted with more than a microphone.

I had a responsibility to honour the organisation, the significance of the conversations and the incredible calibre of leaders in that room.

But I also wanted something more.

I wanted the room to come alive!

For leaders to laugh, unwind, connect, build relationships and enjoy an experience worthy of the occasion.

And we did just that!

The clients were delighted. The guests were happy. The room was alive with energy, laughter and meaningful connections.

And somewhere between the serious conversations and the beautiful moments of laughter, Tiana John did what she was born to do!

The She Code Africa 2026 Summit is one experience I still haven’t quite gotten over.

Imagine a room filled with women looking at technology and saying, “Yes, there is room for me here. And now, I want to own the room.”

That was the energy.

The confidence. The ambition. The brilliance. The laughter. The conversations.
The reminder that women are not waiting for permission to participate in the future of technology.

We are already building it.💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

And an experience that powerful needed a host who could hold the room, carry the energy, connect the moments and keep everyone with us from beginning to end.
I had the privilege of being that host.

And somewhere between the conversations, the celebrations, the spontaneous moments and a room full of incredible women, I found myself thinking:
Okay… maybe this “born to talk” thing is getting a little too accurate. 😂

@shecodeafrica you gave me a stage I will remember for a very long time.

And if you were in that room with me, I have just one question:
Did Tiana John prove she was born to talk or DID SHE PROVE IT? 👀😂

Because from where I was standing… the evidence was looking pretty strong. 🎤✨

One of the hardest parts of preparing to host an event?

The outfit.

Yes, I know that sounds dramatic.
No, I will not be taking questions at this time. 😂

Because the look has to do a lot:
It has to fit the room.
Photograph beautifully.
Let you move.
Let you breathe.
And somehow still make you feel like you can command a stage for hours.

So when @shecodeafrica said:

“Birthday celebrant. Nigerian Owambe. Touch of pink.”

I said…

Please hold my cup.

I loveddddd this look.

The colour.
The drama.
The Owambe energy.
Everything.

And I’m convinced it gave me the extra energy I needed to keep the room alive, engaged and having a good time all through the Summit.

Because sometimes the outfit is not just an outfit.

Sometimes it is part of the confidence.
Part of the energy.
Part of the performance.

Now be honest with me:

Did I understand the assignment or did I UNDERSTAND the assignment? 😂

I love hosting rooms that are a little… unconventional.

Maybe one day we’ll talk about the fact that I used to be a stand-up comedian.

Today is not that day. 😂

Today, we’re celebrating Freedom Experience 1.0 at the Freedom Centre, on Freedom Way.

Yes. That much freedom in one sentence. 😂

It was an incredible gathering of young people where we worshipped, connected, talked openly about addiction, and had honest conversations about the things people often avoid because of shame.

My favourite part? The No Cap Session.

People walked up to the microphone and asked the questions they genuinely wanted answers to — no judgement, no pretending, no shame.

And I had the honour of holding that room alongside amazing voices including @david_e_onochie @kachioffiah @ransompapi @ukaeje_ @anastasiaonyinye.o @jerryoputa @frankikemefune
Trust me, this people are sound!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s the kind of hosting I love.

Not just announcing what comes next — creating a room people feel safe enough to actually experience.

So yes, consider this your reminder:
