NEW WEEK, SAME TEXCELLENCE GISTTTT! 😭😂❤️

Because you didn’t think I was done showing you TeXcellence 5.0 from my POV, did you? ABSOLUTELY NOT! 😂

Still a conference for the BOOKSSSS, and I’m so grateful I got to do what I was born to do! 🥹🎤

One of my favourite parts of hosting the Conversation Lounge was taking those BIG conversations about Africa’s digital future and making them relatable to our everyday lives, businesses and opportunities.

Beyond the big words and brilliant ideas, what does accelerating Africa’s digital future actually mean for you and me?

And ohhhh, WHAT CONVERSATIONS WE HAD! 😭❤️

We laughed, we learnt, we challenged ideas, and we made every conversation count!

My name is Tiana John, and I was born to talk! ❤️

Now come along! At this point, you’re all attending TeXcellence through my camera roll! 😂💜

POV: You have a major event on Tuesday, and by Sunday, your outfit is still a prayer point! 😭😂💜

@texcellenceconference 5.0 had asked me to be their Event Correspondent, and there was just one tiny problem…

I HAD NOTHING TO WEAR! 😭

Not the usual “my wardrobe is full but I have nothing to wear.” An actual fashion emergency! 😂

Enter @mr_splendourr of @splendourofficial ✨

I reached out, explained my predicament, and this man basically said, “Hold my cup. I’ve got you!”

AND DID HE DELIVERRRR! 😭💜

Lavender wasn’t even a colour I imagined would look this good on me, but apparently, Mr Splendour saw a vision I hadn’t received yet! 😂

THE FIT! THE COLOUR! THE ELEGANCE! EVERYTHINGGG!

I felt beautiful, confident and ready to do what I was born to do!

@mr_splendourr thank you for coming through for me on such short notice and creating something I absolutely LOVEDDDD! I’m so incredibly grateful! 🥹💜

TeXcellence 5.0, but make it FASHIONNN! 💜✨

Some rooms demand excellence. Others remind you why you were born to do what you do. This one did both! ✨

When @theenergyyear invited me to host the Nigeria Energy Leaders Summit, I knew I was being entrusted with more than a microphone.

I had a responsibility to honour the organisation, the significance of the conversations and the incredible calibre of leaders in that room.

But I also wanted something more.

I wanted the room to come alive!

For leaders to laugh, unwind, connect, build relationships and enjoy an experience worthy of the occasion.

And we did just that!

The clients were delighted. The guests were happy. The room was alive with energy, laughter and meaningful connections.

And somewhere between the serious conversations and the beautiful moments of laughter, Tiana John did what she was born to do!

My name is Tiana John, and I was born to talk.

And if you ever wondered what that looks like…

Here’s your proof! 🎤✨

When the Nigeria Energy Leaders Summit 2026 @theenergyyear called, I said,
“Hold my cup. I’ll show up correct.” 😌🎤

And this?
This is how I showed up.

Prepared. Present. In control of the room.
Because for me, hosting is never just about holding a microphone. It’s about holding the experience.

My name is Tiana John, and I was born to talk.

The She Code Africa 2026 Summit is one experience I still haven’t quite gotten over.

Imagine a room filled with women looking at technology and saying, “Yes, there is room for me here. And now, I want to own the room.”

That was the energy.

The confidence. The ambition. The brilliance. The laughter. The conversations.
The reminder that women are not waiting for permission to participate in the future of technology.

We are already building it.💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

And an experience that powerful needed a host who could hold the room, carry the energy, connect the moments and keep everyone with us from beginning to end.
I had the privilege of being that host.

And somewhere between the conversations, the celebrations, the spontaneous moments and a room full of incredible women, I found myself thinking:
Okay… maybe this “born to talk” thing is getting a little too accurate. 😂

@shecodeafrica you gave me a stage I will remember for a very long time.

And if you were in that room with me, I have just one question:
Did Tiana John prove she was born to talk or DID SHE PROVE IT? 👀😂

Because from where I was standing… the evidence was looking pretty strong. 🎤✨

My name is Tiana John and I was born to talk!

One of the hardest parts of preparing to host an event?

The outfit.

Yes, I know that sounds dramatic.
No, I will not be taking questions at this time. 😂

Because the look has to do a lot:
It has to fit the room.
Photograph beautifully.
Let you move.
Let you breathe.
And somehow still make you feel like you can command a stage for hours.

So when @shecodeafrica said:

“Birthday celebrant. Nigerian Owambe. Touch of pink.”

I said…

Please hold my cup.

I loveddddd this look.

The colour.
The drama.
The Owambe energy.
Everything.

And I’m convinced it gave me the extra energy I needed to keep the room alive, engaged and having a good time all through the Summit.

Because sometimes the outfit is not just an outfit.

Sometimes it is part of the confidence.
Part of the energy.
Part of the performance.

Now be honest with me:

Did I understand the assignment or did I UNDERSTAND the assignment? 😂

And what are we rating the look out of 10?

I love hosting rooms that are a little… unconventional.

Maybe one day we’ll talk about the fact that I used to be a stand-up comedian.

Today is not that day. 😂

Today, we’re celebrating Freedom Experience 1.0 at the Freedom Centre, on Freedom Way.

Yes. That much freedom in one sentence. 😂

It was an incredible gathering of young people where we worshipped, connected, talked openly about addiction, and had honest conversations about the things people often avoid because of shame.

My favourite part? The No Cap Session.

People walked up to the microphone and asked the questions they genuinely wanted answers to — no judgement, no pretending, no shame.

And I had the honour of holding that room alongside amazing voices including @david_e_onochie @kachioffiah @ransompapi @ukaeje_ @anastasiaonyinye.o @jerryoputa @frankikemefune
Trust me, this people are sound!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s the kind of hosting I love.

Not just announcing what comes next — creating a room people feel safe enough to actually experience.

So yes, consider this your reminder:

If you have a conference, summit, community experience, corporate event or wonderfully unconventional room coming up…

Book me. 😉

I create experiences with a microphone.

My name is Tiana John, and I was born to talk. 🎤

Happy New Month on the 11th because time has clearly been moving like it has somewhere urgent to be 😭😂

This month started stretching me before I even had the chance to greet it properly, but we are here, grateful, showing up, and posting our event recaps even when they have almost become throwbacks. 🤭✨

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of hosting the Century Safe Spaces Initiative, and it was such a meaningful room to hold.

Conversations around mental health, wellness, safety, community and support remind me why I love what I do.

My name is Tiana John, and I was born to talk.

But I’m most grateful when my voice gets to serve rooms that heal, educate, connect and remind people that they are not alone.

Thank you @centurygroupng for trusting me with this experience.

Special love to @kachioffiah for the referral. Thank you for always seeing me, believing in me, and putting my name in rooms. I love and honour you deeply. ❤️

Safe minds. Safe spaces. And a little deep chocolate brown because serious conversations deserve good outfits too. 🤎🤎

Today, we talked about creating environments where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

I got to do one of my favourite things in the world, hold space, guide conversations, and remind people that it’s okay to not always be okay.

My name is Tiana John.

And yes… I was born to talk.
