Don’t give too much to the Internet. This 🌎 does not move without Black creativity so take it offline & into your community, too.

A lot of new IG friends, so we wanted to take a minute to re-introduce ourselves with a little memo 📝🖊️📊

• We’re a digital collective 🔌 built to keep smart, talented, skillful Black creatives like yourself from giving up.

• We are building a future where Black creatives are acknowledged and supported personally and professionally.

• SouthSide should’ve never been cancelled 😡 ♥️

We set out to provide Black creatives with community. One where creativity and culture could thrive. Together, we pursue progress not perfection, community over clout, authenticity over algorithms, freedom over fear.

This is OUR story. This is OUR impact. This is OUR evolution.

Just so happens to be a time where Afeni Shakur’s book is back in rotation while running back the new #ADifferentWorld and well, that inspired a booklist for the show 🫶🏾✨📚

Reading literally kept me SANE this year 🙏🏾😭 here’s my top 10 reads of the year, along with a mini introduction to @writeatthetable ✨🫶🏾

Thank you to every single author for your gift, to every friend who listened to me go on and on about reading, and @memphislibrary where I was able to read these for free!

👉🏾One of my top goals for 2026 is to add my own reads to someone’s TBR list. Link in bio ♥️ by @blkcreatives

Today is Giving Tuesday — and our work is simple: protect what matters most.

Our families. Our communities. Our Black women. Each other.

When you give to 1M4, you’re fueling the fight to end police violence, supporting families navigating its impact, expanding community-based crisis care, and ensuring Black women get the protection, rest, and wellbeing they deserve.

If you believe in a safer future for our people, today’s the day to stand with us.

Give at www.givebutter.com/1M4 or click the link in our bio.

Good people, I’ve made the decision to sunset @blkcreatives 🏁

It’s unbelievably difficult to put 12+ years worth of life into a goodbye message, so I didn’t try to but I did want to share my gratitude - find it via the link in my bio.

God is the greatest, looking forward to what’s next✨

The newsletter WILL continue and that link is also in both bios 🫶🏾🙏🏾 by @blkcreatives

It’s a new week 🤗 (Happy new week, friends!), and a new week opens the door for new and exciting things to happen 😊

To kick off this fresh Monday, we teamed up with @blkcreatives to share some affirmations for #blkcreatives.

It’s #blackbusinessmonth 🥳 and whether you’re artist, an esthetician, a journalist, poet, you paint, dance, run a shop 〰️ this is for you 🫵🏽

What you do adds that je ne sais quoi to the world 🌎 and things don’t always go as planned but that doesn’t take away from its importance.

Keep going 🫶🏾 Use these affirmations for support through your journey!
