Vormgeving @steefliefting
Heel veel dank aan @melanielasance
Uitgever @samsarabooks en @tamarabutter 🙏🙏

🎭 Ton Meijer’s Grand Tour has begun! ✨✨

My dear friend Ton, actor and maker of unique theatre performances, has started his GrandTour through Europe. I was so happy to accompany him for the first part of this journey, helping him drive on the left and find his way! That went well! From Calais to Dover to Dorset and then to Devon.

We spent a few lovely days, on the boat, rehearsals in my mum’s garden in Dorset, swimming in beautiful Eype Cove, walking the stunning Devon coastline and even surprised by dolphins at Berry Head, what a magical place 💚Today Ton will start his first show in the Paignton library. Good luck from Amsterdam @tonmeyer 🍀🍀

Ton and I have been working together since Sieb Posthuma, his partner, passed away 12 years ago. We work with Sieb’s beautiful legacy everyday.

Am so proud of Ton, a man with a mission! Inspiring young and old, with his playful performances about art, music and architecture. Telling his own story about a young boy who loved these things. In his own unique way.

A Grand Tour like in the old days, with this month UK, next month Portugal, then Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland and Norway. Check @tonmeyer to keep updated! A very special journey ❤️

Pre order is nu open - link in bio.

I think this was the most fun book I’ve ever had the chance to create. And I’m so incredibly happy with how it turned out! 🧡

It became such a personal project. Entirely painted the oldfashioned way, using gouache and coloured pencil a technique that fits the concept of this book perfectly. But I can’t say too much about that, because I don’t want to give away the twist… It’s only at the very end, on the very last endpaper, that you discover how everything REALLY fits together.

And oh, the finished book! It’s so beautiful! A cover with a cut out, fabric on the spine, and beautiful gold lettering. Everything just works, the story comes full circle!
I’m so happy! Whaaaaaaaah!
A huge thank you to @gottmerkinderboeken for your complete dedication and trust. It was such a joy to create this book together.

Pre orders are now open — link in bio.
Or, of course, you can already reserve your copy at your favourite bookshop.
